About this listen
It’s what we can’t see that scares us the most …
Twenty-five years ago, an unimaginable tragedy struck the town of Cherry Hollow, leaving its residents devastated and searching for answers. Grief overwhelmed the town for two decades until five years ago when the truth was finally revealed, but not everyone believed the story …
Now, a new family has moved to town, unaware of the secrets and lies that lurk under the floorboards of their new home that once belonged to Amber Walker, one of the five members of the original disaster.
Emma and Linda Smithson, and their two children, have moved there for a fresh start, determined to bury their murky pasts and forget about their own life-altering mistakes. But when they find out Amber took her own life, events start to unravel and suspicions begin to surface, as they each deal with their own darkness.
Jordan and Brooke, two of Amber’s best friends, are determined to prove that she was murdered, even if it means delving into the past, facing old enemies, and standing up to their previous demons. The ones they swore they’d never speak about again.
For the community of Cherry Hollow, it’s not all smiles and sunshine … because the darkness never left … and it won’t rest until it gets what it wants … The Truth.
Click PRE-ORDER NOW to be the first to find out exactly what happens when the darkness catches up to you.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

A 4 1/2 star suspense thriller
The Darkness That Binds Us: A dark and twisted psychological thriller sequel to "The Darkness Within Ourselves" (The Darkness Series Book 2), my second read from author Jessica Huntley. A dark 362 page read that was hard to put down. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and in particular The Darkness That Came Before: The heart-racing and thrilling conclusion to "The Darkness Series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

2nd book in thriller series
This is book 2 in the Darkness Series. One of the main characters from the first book, is no more. For me, this book is more about is the town evil, the people, or both? This book only has 2 main characters from the first book. There are plenty of new characters but the locations are the same. Cherry Hollow is the same. I only wish the creature or darkness appeared more in this book. The ending was way more mind blowing than the first book though. There's still the last and 3rd book in the series. Hopefully all questions will be answered in the last book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Cherry Hollow, New Neighbors and the Return of the Creature
What is in the water or air in Cherry Hollow things only went from bad to worse for the fated 5. A creature on the loose and it definitely is not done with Cherry Hollow inhabitants not by a long shot. The book is a true masterpiece of psychological horror that will keep you on your toes especially with the twist you won't see coming. I highly recommend this book to anyone 18 and over as it does contain adult themes. I really enjoyed this book and all the twist. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving this honest and unbiased review here of my own volition.

Ingenious! Loved it!
The second book of this series was even better. Four new characters were brought in and integrated with the original characters. The description tells us right away that Amber dies. I was so mad to read that before reading the book, but Jessica Huntley did an amazing job incorporating Amber's death to the story without giving anything away. Emma and Linda with their two children bring their own secrets into Cherry Hollow that is almost just as good as the secrets in this small town. There are so many twists and turns, and the ending shocked me. It was such a good book. Well written with depth to the characters, even the dead ones. I was at the edge of my seat from beginning to the end. I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator, Candace Fitzgerald, was so good. She kept me engaged throughout the story. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a thriller with the best twist at the end. So good!

More thrilling than the first.
The Darkness that Binds us takes a turn and definitely gets more chilling. I listened to the audio version and the narrator is amazing. She does a great job of portraying each individual character with great distinction. You can tell which character is "speaking" by the tone and personality she portrays for each one. She also did a rally good job of getting into the story and capturing the emotions of specific scenes. It really puts you in the story and makes you feel like you're present with the character. The story itself was captivating. The mystery of the creature continues and after another main person in the group is murdered, that last 2 standing make it their mission to figure out what's going on. I'm really enjoying this series. I can't wait to read book 3.

Great follow up!!!
Jessica does a great job weaving in the new characters and blending them in with the characters from The Darkness Within Ourselves. I had to read this second book after finishing the first.
I really enjoyed the different points of view from the characters. This one had just as many surprises, twists and turns! Now onto the third, The Darkness That Came Before!

Gripping Tale with Unraveling Secrets Continues...
The journey continues with this captivating tale that builds seamlessly on its predecessor. Once again, the story draws you in with compelling character arcs that evolve naturally, revealing new depths and motivations. The engaging narrative keeps you hooked, while the narrator lends an added richness, perfectly capturing the tone and enhancing every moment. This chapter of the saga feels like a satisfying bridge, connecting what came before with the promise of even greater adventures ahead. Truly an impressive continuation—five stars all over again!
