Publisher's summary

The argument for my bail begins, and I lower my head until the doors behind me crash open with a thunderous roar. A vibration rushes through my body, I look up at the judge as his eyes widen and a cold silence takes hold of the room. It's him. I know it's him. It can be no other. Before I can turn I whisper his name and feel the energy of him blaze up my body as if the simple whisper of his name makes it true, makes him true. As hard as I fight my own curiosity I can't stop myself, with all the assuredness in my head I still have to prove it to my own eyes. Turning, I slowly raise my head up and look upon the three gentlemen, dressed in dark suits and letting the hoods of their coats fall back and reveal expressions of pure - desired annihilation. But it is he that stands center and strong that confirms my suspicions. It is he that has caused this silence and chocked the breath out of an entire room. It's as if the air could breathe and it breathes a trembling gasp of his name, with all that laid their eyes on this sight I see. Only I breathe his name and meet his eyes whispering, "...I knew you would come for me." Only God could save me from a certain deadly fate, and so rightfully, he sent the devil to rescue me. The sequel to The Devil's Eyes is action packed while still maintaining the same dark romance and suspenseful tone of the first novel.

Just when you think it's getting predictable-WHAM!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I've actually read the book, but knew the author had made a few changes so I wanted to listen to it. I could listen to books by Jennifer Loren day and night and be very happy! The books get to a point where they get slightly predictable, then WHAM - there is a twist you certainly didn't see coming. They keep you guessing, and wondering what will happen next.

What other book might you compare The Devil's Revenge to and why?

The Devil's Eyes - since it is the first book in the series. I would also compare it to Black Friday by Alex Kava or Dust to Dust by Tami Hoag.

What does Jane Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I LOVED that there was only one narrator for this book. Other books have two - one male and one female - and most do it very poorly! I only had one complaint about the reader, and it was that the surname of the main character was pronounced 3 different ways throughout the book. Other than that, she did an outstanding job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have LOVED to have listened to this in one sitting! I listened to it every night before going to sleep, and often stayed up much later than I had intended because I didn't want to put it down.

Any additional comments?

Dark, sexy, intense... I could go on with several adjectives describing this amazing sequel to The Devil's Eyes. I had a hard time putting this one down. It is nice to see an author delve into the underworld for once. There are no rainbows and unicorns here.

Narration was horrible!!!!

OMG! Why, oh Why did the narration change for book 2! Finally I fall in love with a dual narration...which I usually hate.. and them bam! Book 2 has the worst narration ever... I can't even tell who is talking half the time. Such a waste too...because this series is so good... it should be a crime... but man... the narration was just horrible... I seriously hope Audible goes back to their narration table and get the two that did book 1 to lock in for the rest of this series... OMG! Do disappointed...

I have no idea what actually happen... I skipped here and there...Had to rewind just to figure out who said what! Horrible...

Now, since I have read the actual book, I already know that Nick comes back and the ending was superb... another baby on board... Nick's sister has some drama with Nick's enemy...I mean I was a great read...but narration.. HORRIBLE!!!

Worth a sale... don't buy or credit...you will be disappointed.

What happened with the narration?

What would have made The Devil's Revenge better?

The original narrators from book 1.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jennifer Loren again?

Not after the dive in quality from book 1 to 2, no.
