Danial Sawyer, a young blacksmith, was considered by the townsfolk of Emerson, Pennsylvania, to be a malingerer and a teller of tall tales who was frequently daydreaming. It was after being shot and wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg that Danial finally discovered the truth behind his dreams.
