About this listen

The upcoming eclipse was anxiously awaited by Clay Jeffries as he prepared a private observatory on the plateau above his father's ranch near Rawlins in Wyoming territory. Then, he received a visitor with an unusual request.

The stranger asked the ex-professor if he would tutor his frumpy but brilliant daughter in astronomy, so she could fully experience the celestial show. Clay reluctantly agreed, but only if she proved to be an exceptional student.

While the young girl surely proved to be both brilliant and frumpy, her arrival also brought with it many potentially deadly consequences that neither she nor her father realized. It would be up to the ex-professor to keep them, as well as his own family, alive.

Another Excellent Read

This is the third book I have completed by C J Pettit with Michael White as the narrator. As with the first two, not disappointed at all. While Petiit's writing style is slightly formulaic, he does a fabulous job of pulling out personalities and emotions from the characters he develops. Mr. White just keeps getting better in terms of pace, inflection and ability to easily and consistently identify which character is speaking. Reading fiction is my personal reward for completing a couple of business books. For whatever reason you enjoy fiction and / or Westerns, Petit is an excellent choice for escapism. Enjoy!

Great book

So I actually don't really care for westerns. So I thought. This book drug me in and wouldn't let me go. So good. It doesn't hurt that the narrator is my son-in-law who was amazing. CJ love love the book 💕💕💕

Another awesome book by CJ and Mike

When Dr. Clay Jeffries gets an offer to teach a very bright woman who loves astronomy, but cannot go to university just studied due to the fact she is a female he said yes. The reason he quit teaching is because he couldn’t find any bright student and despite Harriet being a shrew and not so nice upon the first meeting she turns out to be the brightest student he’s ever had and with the intervention of his ex-girlfriend and good friend Meredith terret out to be one of the most beautiful students is overhead. Unfortunately her appearance in his life brings trouble and this is when the action starts. I love this book I love CJ patties westerns and cannot get enough of them but for some reason the ones that Michael Allen white now rates tend to be my favorite he does such a great job the writing is great, The narration is great and that makes for an altogether awesome audiobook! I highly highly recommend this book to those who love westerns this is one of the good ones. It’s a Louis l’Amour with romance. You can’t go wrong getting this audio book.

Loved it

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I am loving these cowboy books by C J Petit. While is obviously didn’t live back in these times it definitely reminds me of my roots and growing up. This is an amazing story man who was a super genius but still down to earth. He is asked to tutor a woman (by her father) who is also a genius. Neither of the two had plans for love when this arrangement was made but it always finds a way. Her father also owns a successful company and is being hounded by another owner to sell. Things end rather well for all but the mean overweight overzealous owner.
Such a good story. Petit is one of the best western writers I have found (in my opinion). I will read all his westerns they are that good.

I’m also very glad that Petit is working with Michael Alan White for the narrator of his books. He brings such life to them that I feel like they are really happening around me. Such a perfect voice for these amazing books.

Another fine C J Petit Book

I’m sure that the frontier women were tough and savvy, and it’s wonderful that C. J. Petit depicts them that way, especially in this book. Original and fun, this is an easy book to recommend. Enjoy!!
