About this listen

It began in a women's club in London on a February afternoon. A discreet advertisement in The Times, addressed to "Those who Appreciate Wistaria and Sunshine..." lures four very different women away from the dismal British weather to San Salvatore, a castle high above a bay on the sunny Italian Riviera. There, the Mediterranean spirit stirs the souls of Mrs Arbuthnot, Mrs Wilkins, Lady Caroline Dester, and Mrs Fisher, and remarkable changes occur.

Cute

This was a cute story, a quick summer read and I enjoyed it. I’m inspired to rent a castle in Italy with friends now! :)

A nice, relaxing book

The soothing voice of the narrator, the charming story, and all the descriptions of the Italian villa and its views and gardens make for the perfect listen for pure escapism and relaxation. I’m excited to watch the movie again after all these years- and to book a trip to Italy!

Better than the Movie

I haven’t seen the movie since it’s first run, but I remember it fondly.
Full of detailed characters and descriptions, this is a lovely book that makes me want to go to Italy in April.
Eleanor Bron reads more than performs the book, but that works with the way the book is written. I highly recommend it.

Truly delightful

A lovely story, very well read. This isn’t an edge-of-your-seat kind of listen. It won’t keep you awake on a car trip! But, a nice step back to a different time, and the enchantment of finding happiness unexpectedly. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Enchanting story, beautifully read

Absolute favorite, and have listened many times. Admittedly, saw the film and loved it before listening to the book. As I often do, I love the book even more than the film.

What a delight

Who doesn’t need time away and what a wonderful place to go. This was such a healing unfolding of good. I may have to buy the book and savor all the bits that are hiding in my heart.

Oh my I sound like this 100 year old story.

Delightful

This is a beautiful reading of a lovely book. I rarely give 5 stars, but this truly is a charming story. Eleanor Bron does a wonderful job narrating. I highly recommend The Enchanted April for anyone in the mood for a well written, feel good story.

Exquisite narrator

A nice, light-hearted story with a touch of Oscar Wilde's perspective and kind mockery of the upper class. Wonderfully narrated!

Midsummer nights dream

I suspect it is a novelization of Midsummer Nights Dream. Delightful! Beautifully performed!

Thank you!
