About this listen
The world has been ravaged and left to rot, tainted with heavy radiation. The people on the ground - those still alive at least - aren't sure what happened and no longer care. The truth wouldn't fix anything for them. It wouldn't help them survive each day; their first priority. But why?
There's nothing left to live for.
Everything is gone.
This is the end.

not a bad short story but full of plot holes
I have read one other Matt Shaw book "Sick B@sterds" where "The End" doesn't live up to the gruesome imagery that he seems to be known for. It's not a bad short story but I found it to be very simple and predictable. I really have 2 major complaints. Half of the story is dragged out simply by having the main character debate what he should have done. no joke, it really started to get annoying since much of it didn't seem to make a lot of sinse. which goes into my second point which the plot holes. there are a lot of cases Shaw moves the story along by adding contradicting information or ignores details already given. the overall idea of the story is interesting and could have been really good if it didn't get lost in the back and forth narrative of present and moments in the past. for those who enjoy apocalypse books like myself will probably be disappointed.
