Acerca de esta escucha

I'm twenty-six years old, and I want to die.

So when I wake up at the hospital with my brother weeping over me, I know my life is about to change. What I didn't expect was to get a nurse with cruel eyes and a morbid sense of humor that surpasses my own.

I'm even more surprised when I arrive at Harlow Sanctum and realize that my brother selected an unorthodox rehabilitation center that rooms people based on their treatment plan. And my roommate is none other than the man with cruel eyes I met the day prior.

I crave death—he craves life.

Can two people like us cure each other?

Intended for mature listeners.

This is one of my most favorite stories ever read/listened to. I knew when I saw KM's announcement that it was being released on audio that I would have to listen. It did not disappoint and the narrators absolutely brought life to Wynn, Liam, and Lanston. The audio just further solidified that this is my favorite 2024 read(at least until Lanston's story is released next month) and a top 10 read in my life.

Heartbreakingly beautiful

I absolutely adored reading this book and the audio did not disappoint. I truly appreciate Moronova's portrayal of found love in this story. Finding love during your darkest moments seems rare, but it happens.

The way she built up the characters, explained their mental struggles that we can relate to, and intertwined their love and a dark past that connects to their current life was breath taking.

I fell hard for these characters a second time during this audio the same way I did when I read this story. The depth of their hurt is only matched by the depth of their acceptance for eachother and love found along the journey.

The ending absolutely blew me away. I am so eager to read the next book!

Audio is even better than book!

Part Nicholas Sparks or Jodi Picoult book. Part SCREAM and/or your favorite 90s/00s slasher friend group movie. Part typical dark romance. Sprinkle of Silence of the Lambs. Dash of Lifetime movie. Pass through a fanfic strainer. 5 stars for vibes! I read it in a day and then bought every special edition second hand. Can’t wait for the spinoff. Narration was well done. Clear voice and pronunciation. They played the characters so well.

What a wild ride

The book was good don’t get it wrong by the amount of stars I gave it. Maybe it was because I went from reading a 5 star read of Verity by Hoover to this. Two completely different books, so I won’t compare. This one deals with more mental health, it is more “emotional” but not much of a thriller. Not much of a draw dropping read. It was a very nice story. Yes it is emotional, but not to the point where you would cry unless you are very sensitive. Nothing really shocked me at all. It was a nice piece of information finding out Crosby was Liam’s brother all along, yet nothing made me “WOW”. I did like the story line at first but it got very repetitive became slow and didn’t keep me on my toes at all. To the getting toward the last 5 chapters and everything being crammed in. I’m surprised I finished the read in the short amount of time that I did.

It began so strong then just fell to shambles for me. I felt a huge dissociation while reading the book… Maybe due to me not relating to anything ? Maybe due to it making me feel depressed rather than finding it being “ a good emotionally written novel”. It’s like your being told a story that’s depressing and you say to yourself “ thank god it’s over, let me go do something that makes me happy”. I decided to read this book because of reviews on TikTok. Those reviews failed me on this one lol. I began seeking where I could find the physical book as I read it on Books (Apple). I see why I couldn’t find many copies, it’s not just not that great of a read. I support the fact of the mental illnesses as mentioned before and how the characters made growth. It definitely do gives a sense of self development, would I recommend anyone to read the book though ? Not necessarily. The steamy scenes are what probably kept me reading the book and helped keep the book at a solid 3 stars.

I really liked the first 80% of the book, but I was taken aback by the climax/ending. It really comes at you from no where. But over all it was a good book.
The female narrators mic wasn’t the best for large chunks. I keep hearing every breath and page flip. Don’t normally have an issue with that but in this case it was distracting.

This was a beautiful story about mental illness, trauma, and grief. Two mentally unwell people fall in love and find a friend. It was raw and deep. While also being beautiful and refreshing. This personally hit me really close to home and I appreciate this book so much.

This book was so beautiful, heartbreaking and ever emotion in-between. The author did a great job at bringing awareness to mental health. This book made me laugh, cry, feel angry and upset. But it also made me hopeful. Hopeful that one day I will find my cure too.

Absolutely recommend, just please make sure you check TWS. Take care of yourself first. ❤️

This book covers some very sensitive topics. It was hard to continue at different parts due to those topics. Mental health is something that should be openly discussed. There is still some suspension of belief which is great as it allows for the book to stay fictional while allowing for a HEA. check trigger warnings if you may struggle with topics of severe mental health illnesses.

Deeply emotive story on some of the hardest topics.

Wow this book will RUIN you 😭 the emotional depths of this will either really resonate with you or give you so much visibility on what many struggle with, especially post pandemic. I honestly am at a loss for words to describe how beautifully tragic this story was. This novel, their love, left a permanent imprint on my soul. I didn’t realize I could be this broken by a book by sure enough, I dropped to the floor and lost it more than once.

Roman. Empire. Book.

That’s all ✨

I ugly cried so hard at this because it captured my entire heart
