Publisher's summary

When I wake up at a female auction in a world I don’t recognize, all I can think about is getting back home to Texas. I want absolutely nothing to do with a realm called Valora, magic, faeries, or being sold to the highest bidder.

But the Day Realm King has other plans.

Zander says I’m his fated mate. I don’t believe him. That doesn’t stop him from tricking me into marrying him though. It doesn’t matter if I argue or run—he won’t let me go.

I should hate him. Instead, I find myself ridiculously attracted to the stubborn, broody man. He terrifies me, so I don’t know why his rare smiles give me warm tingles or why his arms make me feel safe.

Everything about Valora is confusing, but after just a short time here, I realize something—this place is full of dangers that are way more frightening than my new husband, and staying by his side just might be my only option.

The Fae King's Prize can be listened as a standalone novel, though the story is interconnected with other books in the Between Dawn and Dusk series.

Other books in the series are:

  • The Fae King's Curse (Kirian and Quinn)
  • The Fae King's Dream (Damon and Whitley)
  • The Fae Warrior's Princess (Torius and Dani)

Fated Mate Required to Break Witches Curse

Zander is the Fae king of the Day Realm. Blinded by a curse from witches who had their eyes removed by his father, his father in attempt to cure his curse resulted in his becoming a shifter
Maylyn is kidnapped from earth to the day realm to be sold for purposes of reproduction
Zander is working to eradicate the kidnapping of women and undercover at an auction hears Maylyn’s voice and recognizes her as his fated mate. Now to have her recognize him as her mate wish to remain in the Day Realm
Loved the storyline, that he falls first, that she doesn’t fall in line immediately and the slow burn to the conclusion
Great narration..love this series

Zander and Maelyn - an epic love story

This masterful tale hooks you in from the first word, grabs you by the throat and keeps you captive until the last syllable. I loved, loved Zander, king of the Day Realm and Maelyn, a kidnapped human’s, epic love story. Broody and tortured hero plus a happy sunshiny girl is my favorite pairing and this book does not disappoint. Like the other books in this series, there are many things going on in the midst of Zander and Maelyn’s love story. Zander is still under the curse of his blindness that can only be removed by his fated mate - a mate he has waited thousands of years to discover. There is also the secret that he is a griffin shifter, a fae power forced on him by his evil father and a witch. Plus slavers, kidnappers, and illegal drug operations. Zander immediately recognizes Maelyn as his fated mate but bond is broken due to the death of most of the coven who cursed Zander and Maelyn does not recognize Zander as her mate. Maelyn was happy in her life on earth and just wants to return. Zander needs Maelyn to stay with him and starts the relationship by playing a game of chess in order to win her from the slave auction she has been forced into and then he tricks her into marrying him. On the way to their HEA, Zander needs to accept himself as he is and let go of his painful past and Maelyn has to learn to embrace all that Valoria can be with her help. I just loved the heartwarming, action packed, emotional roller coaster journey that is Zander and Maelyn’s HEA. The story is filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and a beautiful passion for love, justice and acceptance. I hope we her get the love stories of some of the other characters from this series. I am not ready to leave Valoria behind.

Bryant Walker and Leanne Woodward did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I really love the added dimension listening brings to a story.

I love this series!

This is the third book in the Between Dawn and Dusk series, a paranormal romance. This is a series of interconnected stories. Zander and Maelyn's story is fast-paced, passionate, and entertaining. The world building is captivating. This is my favorite in the series. Bryant Walker and Leanne Woodward did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. #PFPAudio

The Fae King’s Prize

This is the third book in the Between Dawn and Dusk series. Zander is the Day Realm King. He was cursed just like the other realm Kings. However he was cursed by another wizard. His father wanted to try and break the original curse. Instead of breaking it, the wizard made it worse. Zander got changed into a Griffin shifter. Zander along with the other kings had to find his Fated Mate to break the curse on his eyes. Maelyn was kidnapped and taking to the Fae realm to be sold in a trafficking ring. Zander just happened to be there to shut it down. I really enjoyed this book. It had a Beaty and the Beast quality to it. Leanne Woodward and Bryant Walker did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Just ok.

Out of all three books the first one is definitely the best. this book was okay. I would recommend just reading the first one, it's really the most interesting one of all 3 books.

Riveting PNR with heart, steam, and a hot Fae king

Wow! This paranormal romance started off with a bang with an intense scene, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book. This is the first book by Jamie Schlosser that I have read, and I am impressed. I have high standards for PNR, and this book delivered. This is Book 3 of a trilogy but can be read as a standalone. I look forward to listening to the other two books. I loved the satisfying 13.5-hour length that contained a complete romance with a HEA and no cheating. The first half is a slow burn, and then the second half is steamy with “dirty talk”.
Trigger warning: kidnapping, human trafficking, graphic violence (not between main characters); mentions of rape.
I really liked the heroine MaeLynn, a naive 23-year-old human from Texas. She started off rather weak but relatable and gained mental toughness as she grew as a person. MaeLynn was suddenly kidnapped and taken to the Fae world of Valora to be sold into sexual slavery. Thankfully, King Xander of the Day Realm (one of 3 countries in Valora) rescued her and realized she was his fated mate. Xander is an attractive, brooding Fae man with somewhat flawed character and a traumatic childhood. MaeLynn and Xander were great together, with their conflicts and growing understanding of each other.
I like the world of Valora. I would prefer that its sun movements made sense for a planet with two suns, and I would have liked a less vague geography, but overall the setting was very good.
The dual narration by Leanne Woodward and Bryant Walker was absolutely marvelous. They matched each other’s character voices very well. They took the story to the next level with their perfect pacing, emoting, distinctive voices, and everything. Leanne Woodward really brought MaeLynn’s character to life with a nuanced performance, and both narrators gave Xander a totally sexy English accent. I highly recommend this audiobook to fans of paranormal romance.
I requested and received a free audio copy, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #PFPAudio #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam
