About this listen
The world is free. The world is mine.
Some call him the Usurper, the Destroyer of Worlds. Mahzun calls himself the Savior of Man. A decade of war has brought him to the precipice of victory.
Zahara, a prodigious mage, is destined to wield the Power of Creation and put an end to the Usurper. But when that power mistakenly falls to Ekarath, her best friend and elite soldier incapable of casting the simplest of spells, destiny must be questioned.
Will the Usurper complete his victory? Or will Ekarath find the strength to be the hero he wasn't destined to be?

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Some dream of prosperity, of living a calm and peaceful life. But not me. Having reached the pinnacles of success, I can't stop thinking about the past, about a time when any misstep could spell disaster, when I had to pay, work, and risk everything for even the slightest gain and each day was like walking a knife's edge. That's all in the past now. This peaceful, predictable, and privileged life isn't so bad. But it's boring!

With the company's failed attempt at entering the gaming industry, they switched their sights to focus on smaller scale educational programs. Being a beta tester for Radical Interactive was not the dream job that Will had envisioned, but he had hoped it would get his foot in the door to one day becoming a graphic designer for the company. He never realized that he was literally signing his life away.

Well Told And Engaging Story
This is normally not my genre, but the story was well told and the author does a great job at helping you visualize the world in which the story takes place. I'm glad I listened to the audiobook as one of my frustrations with this particular genre is not knowing how to pronounce the names in the book. Would definitely recommend!

Exceptional
I loved being immersed in this trilogy. The world that the author creates is absolutely magical. The character development blew me away. I immediately bought the physical books so I could finish book 3. And listened to book 1 as soon as I could. I’ve listened to a bunch of fantasy novels. This is one of my favorites. I will relive this adventure with Zahara Ekarath and Mahzun over and over.

Fantastic fantasy
This book is very engaging! From the beginning, you're drawn in by the characters and the storyline. It moves quickly but not to a point that you feel lost or confused. I also love that there are two different voices for the two characters' perspectives. It helps with an audiobook to be able to follow it more clearly. I'm left wanting to know more and I want to see how the series will end. I can't wait for the second book! What a great cliffhanger!

A fantasy that you can relate to.
I love fantasy because it is an easy way to escape reality and be the hero protagonist in the story. This book is great because the characters are so relatable (even the antagonist) and you want to draw parallels with reality not escape it. This book felt familiar to others in the genre without being predictable. It always kept me guessing. I hope the story continues because I want more!

An incredible story
The Final Heir was such an amazing journey! The characters are so real. The world is rich and vivid. And the character development with all 3 point of view characters are so unexpected and yet so understandable and believable. I loved the point of view chapters from the villains point of view! And the narration was amazing. There were a few lines throughout the book that genuinely gave me goosebumps. I can't wait for the next one!
