Publisher's summary
Seventeen-year-old Lilly Claire Masterson has just lived through her worst nightmare: the death of her mother.
Lilly’s life only gets harder when she is forced to leave Chicago and move to the swamps of Louisiana to live with her grandmother—a woman she never knew existed until recently. Soon after, malicious voices taunt Lilly in her head, causing her to question her mental health.
Then an encounter with a stranger entices Lilly with promises of restoring her mother’s life, but first she must commit an unthinkable act.
A mysterious boy saves Lilly from a grave mistake which sends her crashing into a realm between Earth and the afterlife called Lemuria, where reapers trade humans’ souls to angels and demons for magical stones. There, Lilly finds love, friendship, and family.
But to rescue her mother’s soul, Lilly must face her true identity and fight for Earth and Lemuria. Will she and her new friends find the courage to save us all?

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Thomas is the best 🥰 (& the creative world of Lemuria)
this story was so much fun! I love the world building & the creative take on how soul collection is used as a way to maintain power & the concept of whoever ends up with your soul decides your fate. also the beautiful bond between Lily and her mother reminds me of my own relationship with my mother 💖 but the main thing I want to talk about is my favorite character ✨️Thomas✨️ who does an amazing job of keeping Nate in check throughout the story. hoping for a Thomas spin-off bc I miss listening to his witty one liners 😂 overall great listen & I'll be keeping an eye on Riley Gipson 👀
