This book exposits their preface to bring to light what these men actually believed about inspiration, preservation, and translation.

In The Forgotten Preface, Joshua Barzon presents 10 theses based entirely on the King James translators’ words in their preface to the KJV. This book deals with what the King James translators believed (chapter one), an endorsement of modern Bible translations (chapter two), an evaluation of a particular modern translation as a case study (chapter three), and quotes from respected historic Christians who used and endorsed modern Bible translations (chapter four). A modern English translation of the preface is also included as an appendix at the end of the book.

read the book a while back and decided to re-familiarize myself with it again. So I listened to the audiobook. The reader does a great job with pace so he isn't moving faster than my reasoning in my mind can move lol. the premise of the book is simple, he uses the preface to the reader from the King James translators themselves to argue against the kjv only view. Not done in a negative argumentative way. Take point after point that KJVO people argue and uses the KJV translators own words against those arguments. Even if your mind won't be changed on KVJ only'ism knowing what's in the preface itself is worth the book.

Really appreciate the brevity and accessibility of this work. All of it is good, but the fourth section on historic Christians who endorsed modern translations was pure gold. Good digging! I’ve bought a few copies to give to friends. This preface and the understanding underlying it is little known. Few.
