This is a good story with some very small issues. The MC is slowly coming to grips with his personal losses as well as his responsibilities. The world-building is world-class with the introduction of additional character races and more problems. The pace of the book is well-developed and the author does a great job managing the other supporting characters. I'm looking forward to the next book. I don't regret using a credit on this book. If you are in between titles or just looking for something new The Fortfier series is not a bad buy.

Overall a very apocalypse series, through I wish the book was a bit longer. Loses 1 star for ending on a cliffhanger, don't be that guy...

Tragic events lead to hard choices, thou allow for the story to grow and become even more richer. This is a great series, and we'll hopefully have a publisher's pack soon. This is one of those rare gyms. That's has some fighting, but its main goal is building and the author has done a superb job.I hope he gets The next one on audible sooner than what happened with this, because it's good, very time sensitive when it comes to series like this way too long and your audience may have moved on or do too soon and you risk putting out AA product that's not as good as the others so. Hopefully, he keeps the balance that he has. That's allowed for a rich story, but in a more timely manner, so we can enjoy it and keep wanting more from this series

cliffhangers are the mark of a mediocre author and I'm sorry but your story was not all that anyway. So here is where I stop goodluck with story.
