The pile of recent dieting books is growing faster than the average American's waistline. From the well-known programs that deprive and restrict to ones that rely on juice alone, it seems that everybody has an answer to the growing problem of obesity.
When Jon Gabriel's life took an unexpected turn, he suddenly was awakened to the marvelous gift that he had been given - the opportunity to live - and was disgusted at how he had treated his body. At over four hundred pounds, walking, sleeping, and working was a struggle against gravity, and his life was a constant battle between emotional and physical satiation. He was slowly killing himself with food.
Like the estimated 58 percent of Americans, and rising numbers in other countries, Jon was trapped in what he came to call the FAT - Famine and Temperature - trap. By studying biochemistry, Gabriel learned that your body has an internal logic that determines how fat or thin you will be at any given time. The way to lose weight is not to struggle or to force yourself to lose weight but to understand this internal logic and work with it so that your body wants to be thinner. When your body wants to be thinner, weight loss is inevitable and becomes automatic and effortless. You simply crave less food, you crave healthier foods, your metabolism speeds up and you become very efficient at burning fat, just like a naturally thin person. And that's the real transformation - to transform yourself into a naturally thin person, so that you can eat whatever you want whenever you want and still be thin, fit, and vibrantly healthy.After listening to The Gabriel Method, you will learn:

Interesting Book
This is the first time I have read a book viewing weight loss using your mind. I like how the author explains his experiences and goes through the step by step actions needed to change your body. I have 30 pounds to lose and have tried every diet out there except visualization so I'm giving this a go Stay tuned!

Informative!
Would you consider the audio edition of The Gabriel Method to be better than the print version?
I LOVE the audio version of this-I feel like he's talking lovingly to me.
What did you like best about this story?
How the author got to even knowing this info was something that I liked a lot. I love learning about emotional energy in our physical bodies. It's really something to learn more about for anyone!
What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

I wish meditations came with it..or at least one for the reader to use/try out. Either way, it's still a GREAT book!

Life Changing
I LOVED This book. John Gabriel has become an everyday part of my life. I have the app and have been listening to the visualizations daily. His story is amazing. I crave life-force foods now, and I don't beat myself up for anything anymore.

Excellent material, needs to be read by the author
What made the experience of listening to The Gabriel Method the most enjoyable?

The content was enjoyable, but NOT the narrator. I dislike "trained voiceover" narrators, as they always sound pretentious and overdone. Certainly true for this one. Jon Gabriel's voice is much better to read his own material.The content is excellent, though, and his method does work!
What didn’t you like about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance?
Pretentious, stagey, disconnected from the material (I didn't believe for a second that any of this happened to him -- which it didn't, but he's "playing" the role of Jon Gabriel, very unconvincingly), quite annoying. I also very much dislike the "vocal fry" in his voice. (Google if you don't know what that is.)
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I appreciated the story of Jesse the cat, which demonstrated how our bodies respond to external threats by putting on fat or becoming lean. Very memorable.
Any additional comments?
Jon Gabriel has other materials, which I highly recommend, especially "Visualization for Weight Loss." That one has a lot of bonus materials, and the Evening Visualization mp3 is super effective. Literally listen as you fall asleep, and find yourself slimming down! I still haven't gotten through all of this recording, mainly because the narrator is just so utterly annoying. I'm very sensitive to sound (misophonia) and his voice and delivery style are grating to me. May not bother some people, so be sure to listen to the sample before deciding. Overall, I highly recommend Jon Gabriel's work, just not this recording. Get the physical book instead.
