A sweet story

What a wonderful tale of cultures coming together throughout a terrifying ordeal but for a meaningful purpose. It is sweet and complete. Well written and narrated. My first time reading a book about the amish culture. Narrator Christina Moore is amazing as expected as she captures each and every character true personalities. Her voices, her tones, her multiple languages and gestures make all the characters come alive in their own individual way. Not to take away from the author but be sure to check out other books read by her. The stories are enhanced when she reads it. Enjoy!!

The Guardian

Little Amish preschooler is lost and then found by Englisher Jodi. The story takes us on Jodi's interaction with the Amish community of Hickory Hollow. I enjoyed listening to the frank and inspired talks that were very useful to me.

I enjoyed this book. An Amish toddler, Sarah, falls out of the family carriage and vanishes. Jodi is an Englisher who is house-sitting and between jobs. The entire neighborhood comes out to hunt for her without success. Meanwhile Jodi (while jogging) discovers the Amish child on the roadside crying and alone. With the help of her friends, Jodi is able to return Sara. Mamma is so grateful, she invites Jodi to visit as often as she likes. Jodi and the Amish family become close friends.
Jodi is having problems accepting her sister's 'premature' death as well as the testing of her faith. The Amish family also is struggling with the 'premature' death of the husband and father. However the trials have made their faith stronger. The interactions between Jodi and the Amish family and community help show real struggles, acceptance and forgiveness.
