About this listen
Dover Rees is a guppy-tailed merman and the youngest child of the king of the Southern Silver Isles. Despite the lofty title, he fits in better with the other guppy-tailed working class than with his royal siblings.
Dover spends his days secluded in his creek, successfully avoiding the king’s court and all the judgmental nobles there. Then, the most wondrous and horrible thing happens. He hears the mating call and knows his alpha is waiting for him.
Ben Elliot is just a human trying to get by in a small tourist beach town. He has his art and a few good friends, and that should be enough, right? Wrong. Coming home to a quiet house and an empty bed starts to wear him out, but none of the omegas he knows appeal to him...until a storm knocks him off his fishing boat, and he’s rescued by a mysterious, blue-haired omega.
Together, Dover and Ben forge a bond strong enough to stand against the storm of corrupt lords, court politics, and a cursed king.

Different is good
I enjoyed all the animals!! I was incensed at the total lack of respect (actual disrespect, imo) Dover and Ben were given when he returned home. How was the king so blind and so superficial. smh. Finally. the scales of blindness are gone from the king and queen, and the king grew a tad emotionally . Being different should be celebrated not hidden or ridiculed . Lots of emotions and rage for ignorance !!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review. The narrator's voice and expressions were great.

Awesomely Fluffy
I really love this story. It's so sweet and the characters are all so cute and loveable, even most of the ones who start out as villains. If you need some sweetness in your life, definitely get this book.
This narrator is not my favorite. This was a better performance than the previous book I listened to him narrate, so there's that. He tends to rush through the dialogue and doesn't put any emotion into what the characters are saying, which is the biggest reason I listen to audiobooks in the first place.

I love this series so much the guppy Prince was such a wonderful series but also wonderful book I can't wait for you to witness this wonderful book you will love all the characters and you will want this book to never end I have read all the books so far but I will say this much I love this book because it's such a wonderful story and if you're gay man like me I hope you try this book because you will not be disappointed

A Fated Mates Insta-love Story Worth Diving Into
After reading/listening to several contemporary MM romances in a row, I was ready to dive headlong into a light, sweet, other-worldly story and "The Guppy Prince" fit that bill. The story took off pretty quickly with royal merman Dover answering the mating call by finding his human fated mate Ben, as did their relationship (it is an insta-love story, after all!). The cast of characters was quite large and somewhat difficult to follow initially, but author C.W. Gray gave them all distinct voices and roles to play.
A bit more world-building would've added some welcome depth without dragging down the overall light and playful tone, especially since the setup for doing so was there and the sea witch's generations-long curse affecting both merman kingdoms is so central to the story. But what a unique paranormal world, where shifters of all kinds, vampires, witches, and humans roam amongst and in full knowledge of each other, not to mention being fated mates. It was all intriguing enough to pique my curiosity about where the series will go in the next book(s). A prequel about Dover's parents could also be quite interesting, as their backstory was an important element in this story.
Connor Brown was a new narrator to me, and he proved a capable one with this solid performance.

Guppy Prince
Dover is the guppy prince and he feels the mating call. His friends help him to follow this call and it’s pretty instant for Dover and Ben. I loved their story and they were so cute together. Also Chubber is the cutest otter ever. This was a sweet story with some plots that will continue to other stories. I loved t he silver isles and Ben and Dover’s friends. Their love was so sweet and cute. Though I got worried a few times but it was low angst which was nice. But there were some problems they had to face and over come but their friends were there for them.

amazing
this is a must read I love all her books but this one and book 2 may just be my favorite

Loved it
Prince Dover of the Southern Silver Isles feels the mating pull and head across the ocean to find his human mate Ben. I love the variety of shifters and pets in this series. A beaver shifter, crocodile shifter, all the different Mers, pet otter, a crazy pet chicken, and a couple fabulous witches. CW Gray has created another fantastic world of fluffy humor, adorable pets, loving and nosy friends, sweet omegas, and their protective alphas.
Connor Brown does a great job bringing these characters to life. This is definitely one I will listen to again.
