When Mr. Hollister’s sport and toy store, The Trading Post, is robbed, his main concern is for his invention, a new type of collapsible canoe. He is therefore surprised to discover that a Geiger counter and a couple of pickaxes are the only missing items. After putting the problem of the theft in the hands of the police, the family turns to the matter of testing the canoe.

An interested buyer who owns a forest tract has offered his property to the Hollisters for this purpose. They plan to camp out in the forest and test the canoe on the lake and rapids within the boundaries of the property. All goes well until they come across a “talking” scarecrow blocking the road to their campsite and warning them to turn back because danger awaits them in the forest.

The Hollisters refuse to take the warning seriously and continue to set up their camp. From this point on, the strange and unusual events that beset them in the forest seem mysteriously connected with the theft at the store and a search for uranium.

Another exciting adventure that will be welcomed by the hundreds of thousands of Happy Hollister fans.

My boys (ages 7, 5 and 2 2 year olds) absolutely can't get enough of The Happy Hollister's and this was another that did not disappoint! At the end of each chapter they are always on the edge of their seat wanting to know what happens next. We highly recommend this series for all families who enjoy adventure, want to teach values and morals to their children and enlarge their vocabulary. These are wholesome books and contain high quality writing. The voice reading of the book was wonderful as well. We can't for our next adventure with the Hollister family!

My kids really loved this audiobook the moment I put it on. Finished it within a day, they were so hooked!

My 8 year old son and 7 year old daughter have listened to this story twice (several months apart). They really enjoy it and I feel like they are learning while they listen. This narrator is very good at reading.

We bought this title for a road trip this summer. Our children absolutely loved it. We have the Happy Hollisers full set at our house, and I read from it occasionally. But somehow it never caught our children's attention until they could listen on Audible. The performer spoke clearly and the children were able to follow. I would pause after each chapter to discuss it with the children, which helped them understand or ask about anything that was unclear.

Children loved it!
