Publisher's summary

Now the new Duke of Hollinburgh, Nicholas Radnor has two duties to fulfill: locate the mysterious woman mentioned in his late uncle's will and acquire a suitable bride. When bedazzling, unconventional Iris Barrington shows up at the estate, Nicholas believes he may have found the missing beneficiary—unless she is a charlatan, or worse. But as for his second duty—he is finding it difficult to think of any other woman while tantalizing thoughts of Iris occupy his mind. He agrees to fulfill the late duke's promise to her, even as he grows suspicious of both her motives and the danger that seems to surround her. All of which keeps her temptingly close at hand . . .

Iris will do anything to restore honor to her beloved grandfather's name. Even tangle with the likes of Nicholas, a man whose formidable intellect and good looks lure her like no other. But all her years on the continent have not prepared her for the sensual onslaught she discovers in his embrace—or the devastation of almost losing him to malicious intentions. Now Iris's desire to unearth the scandal behind the dukedom burns ever brighter: for doing so might also protect the man who has stolen her heart . . .

Contains mature themes.

I feel cheated

We should have had an epilogue. Needed a little more of their story. Feels unfinished to me.

Iris is an enjoyable, sensible character

As I was reading this series, I was surprised to realize that this last book was not released. Then, the next day it was available, I snatched it up, and I couldn't help feeling auspicious about it. This book was very intriguing as Iris's whole family history was wrapped up in the plot. There were repeated attempts to kill these two and an unlikely cat to the rescue! In the end, all the mysteries are explained including the old duke's death. I was most impressed by the fact that Iris would not borrow money for any reason, even while waiting to receive this inheritance.

Great series

I really enjoyed all three books of this series. Each story was different, but loved how the past characters were brought into the next story.

Good story

Liked the characters and the setting. Lacked having one good, physical love scene. Overall, enjoyable.

Epilogue

None of the books ended well, but the last in the series cries for an epilogue. The birth of Chase and ? ‘s baby, the marriage of Nicole and Iris,
Needs so much closure

Books enrich our life

I loved it. I do wish there had been an epilogue since this was the end of the series. It
would have been nice to have the three heiress together with their husbands.

Abrupt series and book ending

As always I enjoy this writer and this series. However. I felt the ending to the book and series was a bit rushed and abrupt.

Loved It!

Madeline Hunter’s books are enjoyable and this one lived up to the others. The Heiress Bride introduced Iris’ story and wrapped up the late Duke’s murder subplot.

Marvelous end to terrific series!

Loved, loved this book -- and the audiobook was even better!! The narrator, Beverley Crick, added the emotional heft and multi-voice talents needed to really make this audiobook come alive. In all 3 books in this series, the plots and the characters are well-thought out, quirky and original. Iris is a terrific heroine who makes no apology for her love of books and her desire to correct her deceased grandfather's reputation. Duke Nicholas is trying to balance his family's financial struggles. and resolve it's deadly mysteries, with his desire to have a true companion in life. Author Madeline Hunter's gifts in crafting such addictive stories are why she's among my favorite writers..

My favorite of the series

It was funny, the story intriguing, the characters were lovely and relatable. The narration was also good.
I also agree an epilogue would have been perfect.
