Publisher's summary

Devoured (The Hunger, book one)

Life isn’t kind to Lance York. A full-time job has eluded him for years, his wife loathes the sight of him, his bank accounts are empty, and his wealthy father-in-law revels in his failures. After he lunges in front of a car to save a sick and disoriented woman, Lance awakens in a quarantined hospital.

A devastating plague is spreading worldwide, driving those infected with it insane. Their bodies begin to mutate into horrors that have haunted mankind’s nightmares for centuries.

The world descends into chaos as the infected flee to the shadows, emerging at night to devour the remnants of civilization. With the help of an unlikely ally, Lance must navigate through the collapsing city of Pittsburgh, striving to escape the madness of the apocalypse that unfolds around them.

Consumed (The Hunger, book two)

Lance, and his companion Cass have survived the apocalypse. Much to their surprise, that was the easy part. They've fled the city, struggling to find food and shelter, fighting against the nightmarish infected and the militant living, willing themselves to endure through each day.

Ravaged (The Hunger, book three)

Lance York, a self-described loser in another life, has rediscovered himself in the midst of the apocalypse. Along with a cadre of other survivors, including the hardened, sexy Cass, Lance has taken refuge in a compound, struggling to survive the onslaught of monstrosities descending upon them each night.

The horrors that have devoured mankind are changing, their minds rebooting like a computer. Intelligence, the lone advantage of the humans, is returning to the infected. They ravage the compound with calculated, precise strikes, chiseling away at the defenses Lance and his friends have erected.

Fantastic Post Apocalyptic Series

Props to Jason Brant for writing and fantastic series in a genre that is filled to the brim.
Cons - Main Protagonist is BEYOND LUCKY. He has a great arc but some of the close calls are eye rolling.
Pros - EVERYTHING ELSE. The story is a great middle ground of, say, Mountain Man and Extinction Cycle. It balances action, gore and humor w horror and dread. Brant pulls it off w/o the series becoming too depressing.
The main female protagonist, Cass, is a BADASS. She is strong, funny and very likeable. Easily my favorite character. In fact, it was cool how capable all the main female characters are.
The infected are cool and imaginative. They are a great danger that are always looming in the background and ready to kill.
All in all I really enjoyed the series. Highly recommend.

A Great Post Apocalypse book!

It does an excellent job following the main character though his painstaking journey. From weakling to competent survivor to risk taking dumb ass!

So great!!

Quick-paced and exciting with lots of humor thrown in. The author is adept at creating characters of depth in a very short amount of time. The narrator is amazing.

Entertaining and Enjoyable

Love to listen to apocalyptic stories, this collection kept me listening. Lead characters are sarcastic and seem like it might resemble Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in their banter.

Good book and well read! Solid entertainment. Didn’t care for some of the story plots but enjoyed it overall.

Loved the overall story and the way they portrayed the monsters. Didn’t like the stale idea of evil humans wanting to control everything. The interaction of main characters was refreshing and fun.

Great story

Passed this one up several times because of oft reviews. This was a new take on the genre. Some humor, sad moments and a lot of action. Th MC is not a prepper or big action hero but circumstances turn him into one… a little clumsy, which is more like the rest of us mortals. Ha. Great value for money.

Will look for other books by this author
