About this listen

The Nowhere Man is a figure shrouded in secrecy - a near legendary figure who helps the truly desperate, those with nowhere else to turn who are lucky enough to be able to reach out to him. When darkness closes in, the Nowhere Man is your last, best hope.

Before he was the Nowhere Man, Evan Smoak was a highly trained government operative known to a few as Orphan X. But he now lives by hiding in plain sight, keeping his head down and his eyes clear. So when a local summer intern for a tabloid news site finds herself trailing an aggressive reporter into a crime zone, things go terribly awry. The only person who can help her is a man with the background and the skills of the Nowhere Man.

From New York Times bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz comes an electrifying, original story in his “nerve-shredding” internationally #1 bestselling Orphan X series.

Amazing short story!

This is the second Orphan x book I have listened to and will continue with the series. This short story is a great introduction to the character. The narrator does a great job!

Wow!!!!!

Don’t expect to breath for 30 minutes. You’ll be holding your breath until the end. Also, I’m guessing we have a new character in Orphan X’s world. And, it’s a good one!

I love all of the Orphan X books

I love all if the Orphan X books, I just wish this were a full book and not a 30 minute short story. Good little story line. Maybe this character will be in a future book

Love Me Some Nowhere Man!!

Reporter stories get to me sometimes. Yes, they are only human, but so often they are written as showing great bravery, seldom showing the grandstanding that comes with watching others and capitalizing on the pain of those they watch. The real heroes are those who stand up, rush in and actually "do" the things these chroniclers record...like our soldiers, first responders and the Nowhere Man. Reporters have their place, because without them, all heroes would be urban legends like the Nowhere Man. Yeah, yeah, love me some Nowhere Man😁!!

Nice and quick

This honestly wasn't what I thought it was gonna be when I first bought this book (without reading the summary, of course), but it turned out to be pretty goddamn perfect. I never thought I'd see Evan take a case without it coming as a request for help, but he swooped in and saved the day as efficiently and calmly as anything I've ever seen. I just adore this character for his constant vigilance to do right by those who cannot help themselves.

Appetizer with bite

For $1, a complete short story for those wanting to sample what the full length books feel like or relish a dark, dangerous quickie.

Short but Good

This short story had me sitting up waiting to see what happens, I like the way this story comes form the last book. Will the female be in the next book? Guest I'll have to wait and see.
