TWO LOST HOURS ABOARD A UFO—THE ABDUCTION OF BETTY AND BARNEY HILL • One of the most extraordinary UFO tales of our time—a thrilling, otherworldly, and wildly entertaining adventure that enraptured America and stands as the quintessential extraterrestrial encounter

"True believers will see this as further evidence of the reality of UFOs" —The New York Times

On a summer night in 1961, Betty and Barney Hill were driving home through New Hampshire when a bright object appeared in the sky and began following them. When the couple finally pulled over to get a better look, the object vanished before their eyes. With nothing else to do, Betty and Barney returned to their car and kept driving into the night. The encounter left them rattled, but what came next was even more arresting: the following day, the Hills realized they couldn’t remember anything from almost two hours of their drive. Time itself had disappeared, so the couple began looking for help, hoping to uncover what happened that mysterious night.

Captivating and unputdownable, The Interrupted Journey is the complete story of those missing hours and the Hills’ nearly identical accounts, as revealed to doctors under psychotherapy and hypnosis. It stands as one of the most extraordinary UFO tales of our time. Thrilling, otherworldly, and wildly entertaining, The Interrupted Journey is an adventure that enraptured America and stands as the quintessential extraterrestrial encounter.

Good detail, well-performed

Narrator is very skilled at moving back and forth between the main people of the book, doing the voice with an accent of Betty Hill, doing the Barney Hill voice, and of the hypno-therapist who helped them unlock the memories of what happened. They don’t editorialize much, and leave it to the listener to decide if it really happened or if they had some hallucination brought on by sleep deprivation.

One of the most compelling abduction cases!

Great performance. Amazing detail. Compelling accounts. Great production, narration and memory recounting. I highly recommend.

Detailed and interesting, but somewhat repetitive.

This is quite a groundbreaking account from the 60's of a UFO encounter. It is interesting and very detailed, but suffers from repetition in a few chapters. The book would improve with some clean up edits, but I still enjoyed it overall. Reader performance is good.

Enjoyed It Immensely

This is a very compelling account of what became known as “alien abduction” about 70 years ago. For whatever strange reason, I find the potential reality of the basis on this story to be comforting. Probably because any reminder of a bigger picture of our cosmos brings me great solace.

One small critique of the narration: in an attempt to capture Betty and Barney Hill’s New England accent, this otherwise solid and reliable narrator missed the mark. He has such pleasing mid-Atlantic speech but couldn’t quite get the roughness of the dialect, and anytime there was dialogue that included the name “Barney,” I kept thinking he was saying “Bonnie.” But this is a minor complaint.

Whether you find it credible or not, I think it’s a pretty fascinating (and at times riveting) narrative. I’m glad I read it.

Plausible Alien Abduction

This story keeps your attention. The characters in this story beg to become your friends. Like a mystery, you uncover with them an unbelievable story. The psychiatrist in the story covers your questions in science. The narrator kept the timing in perfect tempo. Do I believe- it’s hard but yes.

Excellent Recounting of the Hill UFO Experience

This was an expert narration of this very enthralling recounting of the UFO sighting by Betty and Barney Hill in 1961 by the Hills themselves. It gives you all the facts of the encounter as remembered by the couple. I couldn't recommend this more!

Redundant

I had a UFO sighting in 1979 with my girlfriend lasted two days when I got home I called Betty and we talked for quite a long time the Air Force was involved in my sighting I don’t speak of it because I know people won’t believe it if you’ve never had a UFO experience No explanation as possible if you have had one none is necessary. I found the book To be redundant and not informative
