Publisher's summary

Best-selling author John MacArthur gives readers a fresh look at how Jesus addressed attacks against the truth. Meek and mild. Politically correct. A great teacher. These are the popular depictions of Jesus. But they aren't the complete picture. Maybe because it's uncomfortable, or maybe because it's inconvenient, Christians and non-Christians alike are overlooking the fierceness of the Savior, His passionate mission to make the Gospel clear and bring people into the Kingdom of God. A mission that required he sometimes raise his voice and sometimes raise a whip.

In the much-needed message in The Jesus You Can't Ignore, renowned Bible teacher and best-selling author John MacArthur reintroduces the compelling and often unsettling passion of Jesus' ministry. MacArthur points to the picture of the real Jesus the world is so eager to gloss over. And he calls readers to emulate Jesus' commitment to further the kingdom by confronting lies and protecting the truth of God.

Dr. John MacArthur does it Again!

This was a Phenomenal book by John MacArthur. I was sucked into the true historical narrative drawn out by the author, while the title alone says it all “The Jesus You Can’t Ignore.” This book corrects modern day Churches “Sugar Coated teaching” and their false description of who Jesus really was over 2000 years ago when he walked the streets in Jerusalem, and who Jesus is today, which hasn’t changed. I highly recommend this book to all Christians, Pastors, Group leaders and unbelievers too!

excellent abridged edition by John MacArthur!

Great book read by the author himself. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking to better understand Jesus' character and how he dealt with those who were against Him.

Convicting, Inspiring, Encouraging and Worshipful

Johnny Mac’s reading puts all the emphasis on the right places and makes listening to this book very natural and captivating. I appreciated the chronological presentation of Jesus’s conflict with the leaders of the day and the “bookends” that were pointed out in Jesus’s ministry. Understanding and seeing Jesus in the light presented in this book is desperately needed today.
1) This is a shortened version of the full book but it retains the meat of each chapter.
2) A lot can be learned about the historical background of Jesus’s encounters with the religious leaders of the day.
3) This book doesn’t just offer greater “academic” head knowledge but increased faith in and awe of Jesus. I was moved to worship and praise God!
4) This will encourage us to be more bold, in a way that is loving according to God’s standards, and teach us to remember that true humility and love is determined by God and not man.
5) J. Mac teaches Truth matters, humility and love before God is to speak His truth boldly for His glory and for the good of those listening.
6) He teaches, like Jesus, we ought not be concerned if the truth will be received or rejected; our aim is to please the Lord and be faithful in carrying out our commission and living out of our identity in Christ.
7) If you are looking to know and understand Jesus better, if you want to know how to be more bold, if you want to understand the value of truth and how and why to fight for it, if you want to know if you should speak that thought you have been wanting to say to your leaders in your church or to others...then listen to this!

Accurate, clear, faithful and thorough.

What we need to understand a biblical Jesus! This is one way we participate in 2Co. 10:1-6!

Surprisingly Great!

Would you listen to The Jesus You Can't Ignore again? Why?

This is a book I will undoubtedly read several times. As a student of Apostolic Doctrine, I have bookmarked several key points. My only regret is that this is an abridged version and I cannot locate the unabridged one, or I would buy that as well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Jesus You Can't Ignore?

Many people in this post-modern era rewrite history and create their own Jesus. This book reminds us that their was a confrontational (but not belligerent) side to Christ. I mean, the authorities of His day had reasons to kill Him, and it's not because the Lord baked them cookies.

Any additional comments?

Although I have never cared much for John MacArthur, he really knocks this one out of the park.
