About this listen

Sable just wants an escape from the corner of the world she's trapped in, but what lies outside is far more dangerous…

Sable would do anything to break free from the ruthless gang boss she's indebted to before he corrupts her younger sister or discovers Sable's magical ability to sense the truth in people's words.

In a last desperate attempt at freedom, Sable stumbles into unexpected help—Atticus, the famous playwright, and his traveling theater troupe. Far more than a means of escape, the mismatched band of actors is destined to become the family Sable never knew she wanted. They help awaken her magic until she becomes the burning symbol of truth that the entire land needs.

As war looms and corruption eats away at the halls of power, Sable's ability to sense—and share—the truth may be the only thing that can save them all.

The Keeper Origins is a complete epic fantasy trilogy with rich characters and a delightfully optimistic flavor that stays just on the right side of epic with all the cozy feels. It includes all three books:

Dragon's Reach Sable's rise from a trapped, indebted thief to an actress with words strong enough to change a city.

Raven's Ruin—Embroiled in the politics and scheming of the priories, Sable finds herself drawn to the rebels who fight against them.

Phoenix Rising—With war on the doorstep, Sable and the troupe struggle to keep the foreign Empire from conquering and the corruption in the priories from destroying them from within.

I good story with a glaring flaw

It's a well written that I believe many people will enjoy and find appealing and at 76 hours it is most certainly worth a credit. I think people should be warry of the publishers summary though as it describes itself as delightfully optimistic with all the cozy feels and that is terribly misleading. It carries more along the lines of something like Game of thrones where things start out not great but not bad and consistently get worse and worse until the story reaches a breaking point in the last 10% or so of the book. Yes there are optimistic and cozy feels but they are spread out few and far between so don't go into this looking for a nice laid back story. The major gripe I have with this series is the fact that until the last time every occurrence of the MC resolving herself to do something that resolve is immediately shattered by whatever the next plot device is and it doesn't always line up and make a significant amount of sense. Instead of the MC's decisions driving the plot She is consistently being dragged along to wherever the plot needs her to be next and her resolve consistently folds when the plot direction and her decisions are not compatible. It doesn't ruin the story and some people may not notice it but for me it makes the story feel more like a slog I am having to drag myself through to get to the end rather then I story I am looking forward to continuing every time I put it down.

One of the best deals for all the reasons.

Superb. If it wasn't for Kate Reading.. Well.. Reading this series . I wouldn't have purchased it and I would've missed one of my all time favorites. Do yourself a favor and give it a listen.

The entire trilogy for just one credit. The author is an excellent writer and the voice actress was fantastic! I can't wait to start the next series by this author!

Great story

I loved this trilogy. The storyline was inventive, the characters were inspiring and well developed, the narrator had a pleasant voice, and you get 3 books for the price of one! This is probably one of the best series I've listened to.

I absolutely LOVED this found family!!!

The plot is dynamic. The characters are really well developed, specially all the members of the troupe. The villains are complex. The romance sub plot evolves naturally. I love that the male lead is just a competent guy. Sable does have a few magic powers, but she is not overpowered and what sets her apart is her resourcefulness. The magic system is believable and can be better explored. I got this trilogy because the summary promised "cozy feelings with a found family": it delivered. BUT I also received an amazing ride that got me laughing out loud, ugly crying and silent screaming with excitement. Most of all, I did love the warm and cozy feeling the story gave me all the time. Perfect read for the fall/winter season.
