Cute

A cute read. I think a majority of the negative reviews seem to be related to the diary format, and that the entries do not fully flesh out all the antics... but that is part of the fun. The reader gets to fill in the gaps on their own. This is a fun, light read for when you need a bit of escape without too much commitment.

A well-written story from a good author

The Keys to My Diary ~ Fern was my first read from author Ann Omasta, a fun and enjoyable read, as all books should be. Well written with likable characters written in the form of a diary. An entertaining, and well-written read from her (as narrator the author does a wonderful job). I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Great Read

The Keys to My Diary: Fern was another great rad by Ann Omasta. Fern lives in the tropical Florida Keys and lives a wacky and wild life. She has a love-hate relationship with the book, The Secret. This year of her diary; she meets Mac, the man of her dreams. This is a great book that follows Fern’s entries in her diary. I can’t wait to read more by Ann Omasta.

A little immature

I struggled a bit with this book. Fern is supposed to be old enough to be quite mature, but her outlook on life seems like she is the opposite. Her communication with Mac is sub-par and her reaction to his truth is very immature.
It at least seemed like she grew a bit in the end.
I want to like the story, but I don't know if I do.

Escape to Fern's Diary

This is a fun listen! Read to us directly from Fern's diary, we get to hear her inner most thoughts on her daily life. From her job, and friends to her love life, we have an inside look at her most precious thoughts and serious worries. I loved getting to know Fern. Omasta writes the book as if she is talking to her diary, and the one way conversations were leaving me laughing out loud and giving real thought to some of her questions. It's an interesting way to get to know a character.I have to say, I loved her budding relationship with her "black card" member, Mac and their crazy excursions. In true diary fashion, we get to hear all the judgemental, worries, loves, secrets and hopes that Fern has figuring no one is every going to read it. And the epilogue is just a huge plus! Omasta narrates the book too, so we get the full feel of Fern. It's a blast.

The Keys to my Diary Fern

This story is told through Fern's Journal entries. Fern has kept a diary for most her life. The story is light and fun, with a bit of deception. Fern's friends are quite unique which makes the story more interesting. The narration is very nice and easy to listen to.

You can turn your life around with PMA

Okay, I am a fan of positive thinking, and this tale relates how turning thoughts from negative to positive may actually get the universe to work with you and not against you.
The other thing I took from this tale, is that assumptions about certain things could come back to bite you, but also non disclosure of the whole truth is almost as telling a flat out lie.
Yes, I was entertained and my attention held, by this story, and I look forward to listening to the other books in this series.

Quick fun listen

This is written a bit differently, like a diary. From Fern's perspective she meets her dream man and assumes he is a multi-billionaire. He periodically leaves without letting her know which upsets her. It's a quirky fun and quick listen on audible.

Interesting & Good Narration

Forty two I would say 24, for seemed young in some of them. Then again maybe we still have child like thoughts at any age A diary written from childhood. This was Fern‘s life, I thought interesting as she changed and her thoughts as she got older, the narration was good, and brought the story of her life out, as though you know her now. Given ARCc audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

More sex than storyline

I know that when people write in a journal, they tend to write in an unfiltered manner. But the insights we get into the story’s main character are unflattering at best. I didn’t enjoy her at all. And while I know she was trying to improve herself, I never connected with her.

It seemed like the author tried to throw in every shocking form of sexual escapade to keep the reader’s attention. So my overall impression was that the book was weak on storyline.
