Publisher's summary

Neil Josten is out of time. He knew when he came to PSU he wouldn't survive the year, but with his death right around the corner he's got more reasons than ever to live.

Befriending the Foxes was inadvisable. Kissing one is unthinkable. Neil should know better than to get involved with anyone this close to the end, but Andrew's never been the easiest person to walk away from. If they both say it doesn't mean anything, maybe Neil won't regret losing it, but the one person Neil can't lie to is himself.

He's got promises to keep and a team to get to championships if he can just outrun Riko a little longer, but Riko's not the only monster in Neil's life. The truth might get them all killed - or be Neil's one shot at getting out of this alive.

I will never get over this series

I finished this series two weeks ago and I'm still not over it. I want a Palmetto State sweater. I want a foxhole court tattoo. I want the disaster family to all be happy. I want Neil and Andrew to live a good life and help each other heal their scars.

Wow

I have to say that this was a perfect ending to Neil's story. This series had me gasping, tearing up and sitting on the edge of my seat more times than I can count.

All the trigger warnings but enticing story

This is the third book of the series. Books need to be read in order and the story continues through all the books. This is not a light reading. Most of the characters are a**holes. These books need ALL the TWs imaginable. Violence, substance abuse, se**al abuse, r*pe, crude language, death, kidnapping, murder, overdose, you name it, it’s there.
But still you root for the characters, want them to push through. You understand them. Like them. Like the story. I know, sounds weird. I don’t understand it. But I liked these books very much. And the main characters.
Unfortunately the narrator wasn’t that good. Especially when doing character voices it was bad. Presumably male voice does female voices and it sounds just like the narrator is mocking them. Please don’t do that. Or the ‘drunk voices’. It’s not good. I preferred them to just read the story.

Great series

I really loved this series. It isn’t so much about a sport but about the team. Individuals coming together as one. This is a character study but you won’t find all the answers given to you. These are damaged kids and they aren’t magically healed. They are and will always be damaged. They are simply learning how to be a team, and to a degree, trust. There are so few books that I would reread, but this is definitely one of them. I thought the narrator was good with male voices, but NOT with female voices. I had to cringe whenever “the girls” spoke. I think I’ll reread my print version next time.

need more, please!!

The romance could've been a little more explored, but it still was an amazing end and well deserved for our foxies 🧡
I already need more of them 😩

Excellent story. Excellent narration

This was an amazing story about family. The underlying theme for this whole series is really all about learning how to create a family. The families in this particular story have more than a few issues...

I am a bit overwhelmed by how intense this story was. I struggled to takes breaks from listening. By the last half of this book, I realized that the author had constructed a story that had no superfluous moments. Every single scene or comment furthered the story. There was no good by place to take a break.

I am looking forward to reading this book now that I am not racing to get to the end.
