Story
If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

Story
Do you find yourself hoping that someday, life will be less hectic? One day, you say, you’ll finally have time for the activities that you love–writing that book, completing that triathlon, traveling with friends. But if the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that life is unpredictable. If we’re not careful, dull, unfulfilling tasks can quickly occupy our precious hours, derail our best-laid plans, and make life feel like a slog.

Over the past year, Liz Fosslien and Mollie West Duffy’s online community has laughed and cried about productivity guilt, pandemic anxiety, and Zoom fatigue. As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

It doesn't get any easier than that. Lightly is like a recipe book for minimalism, designed so you can dip into it anytime for advice and inspiration.

A child’s palette may not be as developed as an adult’s, but with a little work, you can get them to eat “grown-up” food. The book will help guide you through the best way to get your kids on the right track with food.

Story
When facing contentious issues such as screen time, food choices, and bedtime, children often act out or shut down, responding with reactivity instead of receptivity. This is what New York Times best-selling authors Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson call a No Brain response. But our kids can be taught to approach life with openness and curiosity. When kids work from a Yes Brain, they’re more willing to take chances and explore. They’re more curious and imaginative. They’re better at relationships and handling adversity.

In The Anatomy of Anxiety, holistic psychiatrist Dr. Ellen Vora offers nothing less than a paradigm shift in our understanding of anxiety and mental health, suggesting that anxiety is not simply a brain disorder but a whole-body condition.

What about the traditions, the innovations, the memories? In Paris for a weekend visit, Elizabeth Bard sat down to lunch with a handsome Frenchman - and never went home again. Was it love at first sight? Or was it the way her knife slid effortlessly through her pavé au poivre, the steak's pink juices puddling into the buttery pepper sauce? Lunch in Paris is a memoir about a young American woman caught up in two passionate love affairs - one with her new beau, Gwendal, the other with French cuisine.

She exposes our society’s internalized fatphobia and elucidates how and why we need to stop “preventing obesity” and start supporting kids in the bodies they have.

The kind big sister energy you need for confidence in the kitchen
I adore the Lazy Genius Podcast, so this book was a no brainer for me. Kendra breaks down areas of the kitchen (and tasks you do in there), and helps you feel not quite so overwhelmed by ALL THE THINGS. I appreciate the easy pace of her reading as well; it feels like a hug, and it’s slow enough that your wheels can turn as you consider how to apply her concepts in your own kitchen.

Does not disappoint
I’ve been a raving fan of Kendra’s since the second I heard about her from the Pantsuit Politics ladies years ago, and I love her insight and compassion. I love that she doesn’t teach her way, she helps you think through what will work for you in a generous, clear, and thorough manner. I’ve got both of her books on both audio and in print— her narration is comforting, amusing, and warm, but you need the book for quick reference, because the instructions are invaluable.

Great Book!
Kendra has stuck a great sense of humor and makes the topic of lazy-geniusing your kitchen interesting. She has lots of useful advice.
I love it when the author narrates her own book!!!!!
...especially when the author has a podcast and we are used to hearing her talk... listening to Kendra's ideas in someone else's voice would just be weird! SO, THANK YOU Kendra for narrating the book yourself!!

Lazy Genius Kitchen episodes in one place amplified!
I love the Lazy Genius podcast, and still found plenty of ideas in the book. The PDF is going to be very helpful too. The only down side is that it does not have the listed vibes she has readers use to select what’s important to them in various chapters.

The Lazy Genius Strikes Gold!
I LOVE listening to Kendra read me her newest book! She’s so easy to listen to - and this book is so incredibly helpful for ALL of our kitchens! She doesn’t tell us what to do. She helps us discover what matters and guides us from there! I’ll be listening more than once!

The same thing over and over
It just kept going on and on and on and on and on I almost fell asleep I could’ve been an actual “lazy genius” by not reading this book and just cleaning my kitchen

Dying of boredom
I so regret buying this. Common sense. Nothing spectacularly helpful. I was literally bored to tears
