Publisher's summary

A librarian’s discovery of a mysterious book sparks the journey of a lifetime in the delightful new novel from the international bestselling author of The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper

Librarian Martha Storm has always found it easier to connect with books than people—though not for lack of trying. She keeps careful lists of how to help others in her superhero-themed notebook. And yet, sometimes it feels like she’s invisible.

All of that changes when a book of fairy tales arrives on her doorstep. Inside, Martha finds a dedication written to her by her best friend—her grandmother Zelda—who died under mysterious circumstances years earlier. When Martha discovers a clue within the book that her grandmother may still be alive, she becomes determined to discover the truth. As she delves deeper into Zelda’s past, she unwittingly reveals a family secret that will change her life forever.

Filled with Phaedra Patrick’s signature charm and vivid characters, The Library of Lost and Found is a heartwarming and poignant tale of how one woman must take control of her destiny to write her own happy ending.

A Lovely Redemption Story

This story of redemption, forgiveness and restoration encouraged me to face similar shortcomings in my own life. It seems easier to call out flaws in a character,
This novel calls us to be involved in the relationships of a family at war with itself. It’s easy to give advice to fictional characters, but that’s not enough. I need to see the ugly corners of my life, face them honestly and make improvements. This was one of those novels that helped me to do just that! I loved Martha’s introspection, forgiveness and redemption. One person in a family can be the linchpin to unlock long held hurts and misunderstandings. When Martha was willing to release family inflicted pain she was able
To inspire the entire family to do the same.
I loved being in on that difficult journey!
Who said it is easy?
I loved her inner voice and her Audible voice created by the excellent narrator.

Wonderful

I love this novel for three reasons; it is very well written, it kept me guessing (mostly), and the reader gave an excellent performance. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end.

I Hate That I Finished This Book!

I don't review too often but I had to for this one. I loved this book! Kept me awake. The characters are wonderful. The story is charming, sad sometimes, but affected me somewhat, making me want to meet these people. The narrator was very good. Had a little trouble with some of the men's voices but absolutely nailed the others. You have to listen to it.

Stories within a story.

I was quite frustrated with the main character Martha, with her not standing up for herself. I became enchanted with the stories inside the story and with Zelda. I recommend this book to any who want to hear a lovely story with a few unlovely bits in it. A satisfying read and it leaves you wanting to know more.
