Publisher's summary

It’s The Holiday on the Champs-Élysées in a great big love letter to Paris, charming old bookstores, and happily-ever-afters!

When bookshop owner Sarah Smith is offered the opportunity for a job exchange with her Parisian friend, Sophie, saying yes is a no-brainer - after all, what kind of romantic would turn down six months in Paris? Sarah is sure she’s in for the experience of a lifetime - days spent surrounded by literature in a gorgeous bookshop, and the chance to watch the snow fall on the Eiffel Tower. Plus, now she can meet up with her journalist boyfriend, Ridge, when his job takes him around the globe.

But her expectations cool faster than her café au lait soon after she lands in the City of Light - she’s a fish out of water in Paris. The customers are rude, her new coworkers suspicious, and her relationship with Ridge has been reduced to a long-distance game of phone tag, leaving Sarah to wonder if he’ll ever put her first over his busy career. As Christmas approaches, Sarah is determined to get the shop - and her life - back in order...and make her dreams of a Parisian happily ever after come true.

loved the book, but

this was a totally enjoyable book except for the fact that the narrator had a very distinctive accent that was quite annoying throughout the audio version of the book.

really wanted to enjoy this light listen but...

the narrator drove me crazy. Every word that ended in "er" she said "a" ! The character was from the south, why not a southern accent if she was going to have an accent or have the full Boston accent? It was like nails on a chalk board every time that "a" showed up.
The boyfriend was annoying and I just wanted him to go away. It would have been a better book if she would have dumped him and found someone better.

The Holiday for book lovers

Unlike The Holiday we Only gets the point of you from Sarah and not from Sophie. But it more than makes up for the trials and triumphs she gets through in the end.

strange accent is distracting

the story is rambling at times. ends well. the most distracting part is the narrator. she is probably English, trying to fake an American accent from a small town but comes away with an accent from the Bronx in NYC. very odd.

charming story

I loved the story very much, but narrator made it almost unbearable. Horrible random american accent.

Everyone's Paris story

Can relate to many aspects of falling for Paris, being true to oneself, and the heartache of love. Only had hard time with readers accent that waiver half way through a sentence.

Story

Once upon a time, cozy romance with a happily ever after story in Paris with people who love books.

Sweet Story

I enjoyed this book. But CeCe's grammar, voice and tone was near insulting to me. I live in Georgia and have never met anyone who speaks like that. She sounded centuries off from the rest of the story.

Real love always finds a way.

I enjoyed the story very much. A fun and surprising story. Not at all what I was expecting. In a good way.
