About this listen
The first attempt to travel at the speed of light has been successful. Transported thousands of miles in seconds, two young astronauts, Rose and Alex, are on their way to explore Proxima b, a candidate terrestrial planet in the Alpha Centauri System 4.2 light years from Earth.
Burning through space faster than any humans in history, they realize the launch into light speed created black holes in their memory, and that all their most recent experiences have vanished without a trace. A long journey stretching out before them, they focus on getting to know each other again. And as they begin falling in love, they also discover strange and marvelous things can happen to people living in the Light. Traveling at the cosmic speed limit is full of surprises, and Rose and Alex soon learn they are not alone as the line drawn between science and the supernatural begins to fade.

I was supposed to start college next year, but after being given a ticket to Cairo as a high school graduation present, I skipped the ceremony and jumped on the plane. My name is Mary Fallon. I'm 18 years old, and for as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by ancient Egypt. I could never have imagined the experiences awaiting me here in the ancient land of the pharaohs, including having my first lucid dream.

I was tantalized by the mystery of her. The leech inside me came out to find prey, but found none in this enigmatic girl. The close proximity of her essence didn’t entice the monster within, so what did that make her? I had more questions than answers, but one thing was unmistakable; although she released me from her embrace, her hold on me remained.

Eve is a bold, unprecedented exploration of the creation narrative, true to the original texts and centuries of scholarship - yet with breathtaking discoveries that challenge traditional misconceptions about who we are and how we're made. As The Shack awakened listeners to a personal, nonreligious understanding of God, Eve will free us from faulty interpretations that have compromised human relationships since the Garden of Eden.

Lovespeed is faster than light speed
In a world where science fiction often explores the uncharted realms of outer space and spirituality probes the depths of human existence, Maria Isabel Pita's audiobook, "The Living Light," boldly ventures where few have gone before, intertwining quantum physics with metaphysical mysteries. This captivating journey is narrated by none other than the author herself, adding a personal touch that elevates the audiobook to a profound and intimate experience.
"The Living Light" propels us into the future, where a groundbreaking achievement has been unlocked—travel at the speed of light. Our intrepid explorers, Rose and Alex, are hurtling through the cosmos toward Proxima B, a distant terrestrial planet nestled in the Alpha Centauri System. However, this miraculous voyage comes at a price, as the instantaneous transition to light speed leaves them with fragmented memories of their recent past.
As Rose and Alex traverse the vast cosmic expanse, they find solace in each other's presence, forming a bond that transcends time and space. Their burgeoning love story serves as a poignant backdrop to the unraveling of a profound cosmic mystery. Pita ingeniously navigates the blurred line between science and the supernatural as strange and wondrous phenomena manifest in the living light.
The heart of "The Living Light" beats with the pulse of a grand science fiction adventure. The concept of traveling at the speed of light is not only exhilarating but is also executed with scientific precision. Pita's meticulous research shines through as she seamlessly blends real, cutting-edge physics with her imaginative narrative. The result is a story that feels grounded in possibility, sparking the imagination and curiosity of even the most science-minded listener.
The pace of the story never falters, and there isn't a dull moment aboard the Light Ship. The sense of wonder and anticipation propels you forward, much like the characters themselves on their cosmic odyssey. What truly sets this audiobook apart is the perfect synergy between the words on the page and the voice in your ears, delivered flawlessly by the author herself.
As Rose and Alex journey through the cosmos, they encounter entities that defy conventional understanding. Adaptations of spiritual figures such as Jesus, angels, and the devil make appearances, injecting a thought-provoking layer of spirituality into the story. The emergence of enigmatic beings from the gym's pool, proclaiming themselves as guides, initially leaves the listener perplexed. However, as the narrative unfolds, it becomes evident that "The Living Light" offers a fresh perspective on religion.
Pita's innovative approach to spirituality is intriguing, and it breathes new life into familiar concepts. The notion that the living light is synonymous with divinity is captivating, and the nods to ancient Egypt add an extra layer of mystique for history enthusiasts. It's a testament to Pita's storytelling prowess that she seamlessly merges elements of science, spirituality, and history into a coherent and absorbing narrative.
A writer narrating their own story is a high-stakes endeavor, but in the case of Maria Isabel Pita, it's a resounding success. Her voice is a treasure—a vehicle for expressing the depth of her prose and the intricacy of her characters' emotions. Pita's narration brings an added layer of authenticity and intimacy to the story, drawing listeners into the world she has crafted.
Her expressive narration is a testament to her connection with the characters and the narrative. It's clear that Pita understands the nuances of her own work, and her narration skillfully conveys the emotional depth of the story. Her voice guides us through the complex interplay of science and spirituality with a natural ease that makes the audiobook thoroughly engaging.
"The Living Light" is a triumph—a thrilling blend of science fiction, romance, and spirituality that explores the boundless possibilities of the cosmos. Maria Isabel Pita's masterful storytelling, combined with her exquisite narration, creates an immersive listening experience that captivates from start to finish.
While the audiobook concludes with Rose and Alex reaching their destination, the promise of more adventures lingers in the air. One can only hope that the author has further cosmic tales in store for us, exploring the repercussions of their return to a world that has aged decades during their journey.
In the meantime, "The Living Light" stands as a testament to Maria Isabel Pita's talent as both a writer and a narrator. It's a must-listen for anyone who craves a thought-provoking journey through the cosmos, where love, science, and spirituality intersect in the most profound of ways. Don't miss out on this cosmic odyssey—it's an unforgettable voyage into the living light.

Romance and Quantum Physics
I've always wanted to know more about, and better understand, Quantum Physics, and this gripping listen was just the ticket. For me, there wasn't a dull second aboard the Light Ship. Afterward, I did some fact checking, and as far as I can tell, the science in the story is real and current. Physics and metaphysics dance effortlessly together in this beautifully written and narrated Novella. I only wish the journey had been longer, but the ending seems to promise more to come. I hope so!

More spiritual than I was expecting
I liked the take on this spiritual adaptation.
Set in space.
Just the two of them travelling through space at faster than the speed of light.
We meet an adaptation of Jesus, angels and the devil. Very interesting.

A little bit different but just as enjoyable
Maria Isabel Pita once again enlighten us with a story of faith but this time with a space/science blend. Still she opens your mind (and heart) to God and shwoing you there are many different ways to embrace him. The additon of this story taking place on a shapceship and then the addition of children made it more page turning /or listening a must to the end. Great job once again Maria Isabel!
