So much fun!

I've loved Zorro stories since I was very young. now, I've finally read the book that started it all. I enjoyed it so much. The characters were fun and B.J. Harrison's performance was stellar (as always).

A Charming Classic

Sure, it is the same storyline as The Scarlet Pimpernel, but this book has its own charm and style. I love the setting (my childhood setting) and the Hispanic flavor. BJ Harrison's reading of the audio book is spot-on!

Weird

Weird style, weird plot, really REALLY weird choices in voices by the narrator ranging from bad guys with evil lisps to Don Diego Vega who I can only describe as "vaguely rapey"

BJ Harrison is a wonderful narrator.

Loved this fun story as performed by Harrison. I will listen to more of his work.

Fun, fast paced, and entertaining

This is a vivid, rollicking tale of the old West in California. I enjoyed it thoroughly as an action adventure and a great Western tale. The prose was colorful and the narration suited the story.

This is how Zorro was Meant to Be.

Here we find one of the most classic, heroic tales of the old world. Full to the brim of action, adventure, romance, swordplay, daring-do, and sweet, sweet justice. This series of classic books, in my opinion, is the absolute epitome of romantic adventure and heroism. Simply a beautifully written set of tales following the adventures of the people's hero Zorro as he fences his way through the world of old California.

The narrator's voice and reading performance is an excellent fit for these books, he brings just the right inflections and mysterious depth of voice to bring the story to life. Great pick.

My only complaint is that the voice Can be a little quiet, especially when you are trying to listen in a noisy location, so you may have to turn up the volume a bit more than you do on other audio books.
Overall, however, this is a wonderful book and set of books. Very reccommended.

Mispronounced Spanish

I loved this swashbuckler of a tale... but not when read by this narrator. His voice and reading style are positively charming (it reminds me of Cary Elwes (Wesley in The Princess Bride movie)), but his mispronunciation of Spanish place names grated on my nerves. I tried to overlook it, because I really DID like the narrator's voice and reading style, but the Spanish place names are used so much in the story that by the end of chapter 2 I couldn't take hearing them mangled any more and bought a different edition with different narrator.

Zorro

Zorro is always an entertaining, if predictable, adventure. B. J. Harrison does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.

Epic.

A near perfect story of romance, action, daring and the doing of the right thing in the face of government.
