They share a genius for espionage - and a life of terror and explosive violence. Sworn enemies, Scofield and Taleniekov have vowed to terminate each other, but now they must become allies. Because only they possess the brutal skills and ice-cold nerves vital to destroy an international circle of killers: the Matarese....

Story
An explosion in the middle of the night reduces part of Paris' esteemed Pasteur Institute to rubble. Among the missing is the world's top computer scientist, Emile Chambord. Even though a terrorist group claims responsibility for the bombing, many in the intelligence community suspect the scientist was actually kidnapped and the bomb set to divert attention. Chambord may have been close to devising a working molecular computer which, in the wrong hands, could be the most deadly weapon in the world. If he were now in the hands of hostile forces, the consequences would be unspeakably dire.

Terrible Sound
The book may be good, but it is the worst audio I have ever listened to, it sounds if it was recorded in a cave speaking behind a covid mask. This makes it almost impossible to follow the storyline.

Poor quality narration
I actually exchanged this book due to the poor sound quality of the narration. It’s hard to believe that Audible allows this poor quality on an otherwise fantastic platform.
