Publisher's summary

When Ishmael lands on the Moon to ghostwrite the autobiography of Adam Moonborn, first man born on the Moon, he learns the job is not as straightforward as it seemed. They soon embark on a mission to destroy all of the Moon’s rogue robots, whom Moonborn holds responsible for the death of his family and the impending downfall of civilization.

A tale of hubris and redemption, The Moonborn reimagines Melville's Moby-Dick, on the Moon, in the future.

Adventure of a lifetime

I couldn’t stop listening to Ishmael and Ahab’s adventure on the moon. This fun look into the future consumed me long after I finished the book.

I was entertained and enthralled

This book was fun! I loved the way it merged the mundane attributes of life with the novel possibilities of life far in the future. The people of the future will still be people, to be sure. I enjoyed this very much.

A fun listen with overt references to other tales

I feel like the subtitle (Or Moby-Dick on the Moon) gives potential readers a pretty good idea of what's coming: Sci-Fi, first person narration, a chase after a deadly ... thing. The story is divided into Cantos, like the Divine Comedy, and follows the narrator from earth to a moonbase, to the wilder, more dangerous dark side of the moon. It's a fun tale, and the author provides thoughtful discussion questions along the way.

I'm not ready to call this high art, but I do think it's a worthwhile listen.
