Publisher's summary
From beloved and best-selling poet Jack Prelutsky come over 100 hilarious poems about strange creatures and people - from jellyfish stew to a bouncing mouse, to the very unexpected new kid!
For fans of Shel Silverstein and Louis Sachar's Wayside School series.
Here are poems about things that you may never have thought about before. You'll be introduced to jellyfish stew, a bouncing mouse, a ridiculous dog, and a boneless chicken.
You'll learn why you shouldn't argue with a shark, eat a dinosaur, or have an alligator for a pet. You'll meet the world's worst singer and the greatest video game player in history. You'll even find an invitation to a dragon's birthday party....
This playful collection is a wonderful introduction to the pleasures of poetry and word play from a master of the genre, Jack Prelutsky.
"It's the author's joyous sense of the absurd that propels the reader from page to page." (Horn Book, starred review)

Already lauded by critics as a worthy heir to such greats as Silverstein, Seuss, Nash, and Lear, Harris' hilarious debut molds wit and wordplay, nonsense and oxymoron, and visual and verbal sleight of hand in masterful ways that make you look at the world in a whole new wonderfully upside-down way. Following the exercises in this audiobook, you'll discover how mindfulness can help you be more present to everything in your life from a trip to the grocery store or relaxing with friends to listening more attentively to a homily.

Fun for all ages.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would. The poems are hilarious.
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of them. Prelutsky does a fine job at character voices.
Which character – as performed by Jack Prelutsky – was your favorite?
Couldn't pick one. They're all quite good.

Terrible music
The poems, of course, are great. They're perfect for children, short, fun, and entertaining. However, the music is so loud and distracting, it's hard to focus in anything being said. I wish they had another version with out the annoying music.
