This author creates the most interesting characters. In this plot, the mathematics are far beyond my understanding. However my admiration for anyone like Margo is pure awe. In the last White book I read, I loved the narrator and noted how important the narrator is in an audible book. This narrator captured Margo and the essence of code breakers. But the monotone of so many of the characters and the narrative took a little from the story. It is still a great read. I look forward to the next one.

intelligent heroine. Hero was less realistic than she was, but its a nice fantasy that men are as open and loving as that. realistic difficult struggles with relationship with God during war.

What an unusual story! I absolutely loved it from beginning to end ! Susan Lyons is a remarkable narrator , well chosen for this book. I am looking forward to listen to more books by this author for sure .

For some reason, I had not read a book by Ms. White before this one. However, I have already purchased its sequel, and am anxious to begin. Roseanna White is an intelligent and gifted writer, who can weave an intriguing story that feels both plausible and warm. She creates mystery without hyperbole and develops a love story without exaggeration. The reader is drawn into the family of characters as naturally as forming a personal relationship in person. The story flows more smoothly and naturally, never feeling forced or contrived, than any I’ve read in a very long time. The tension created by the plot is comfortable while still keeping you completely engaged. I’m looking forward to the reading journey ahead as I enjoy the remainder of Ms. White’s books.

I've never been a fan of WWI as a time period. I hate to say it, but I felt it was almost boring compared to other times. Roseanna M. White and Susan Lyons have completely changed my perspective with this delightfully intriguing book. It flows beautifully, keeps true to the characters personalities and fascinates. I noticed it was book 1 and can't wait for the next and the next!
