Perfect book for intermediate players.

If you’re looking for a jump in your game and becoming a solid intermediate player this book is perfect. Fitzgerald wrote, structured and performed it well. His advice in the trenches is fantastic and it was the first good poker book I’ve read. Highly recommend.

Useful Strategies

Best book I’ve read/heard in 10 years. I’ve read most everything available, too from Theory of Poker to Super System to Harrington’s to Jonathan Little to psychology and tells. Useful concepts.

Very tricky game!

I bought this book because I always wanted to learn how to play poker. I didn’t know how tricky this game was. There is so much strategy. This book goes into teaching you what the poker ratings are to so that was especially helpful. I realize more now that there is an art at bluffing too. Learning to listen people is fun anyway but this book goes into detail about reading your opponents so you can win. I suppose if you already play poker, you can retain these new strategies and use them right away. For me or for anyone who is new, this will be a resource or guide that you will want to listen again to that you can retain the strategies. This book is especially good for someone who doesn’t know the game. I was surprised about the detail for playing poker for a living.

Good strategies!

I wanted to listen this book because I am the worlds worst at playing cards especially poker. It is hard for me to understand all the different techniques. I love how this book got ideas from some of the best poker players. That gives me a lot of confidence in the advice given. I also love the tips and tricks offered. I have set up a game for next weekend to use my new strategies I have learned in this book. I plan on using them also to practice by playing online. I have confidence now I will do good. I received this book at a discount for and honest review. I know I will do good now that I listened this.

Actual perspective from an experienced player.

the author is extremely experienced and it's played the game for quite some time. Simple description she provides of the most complex situations suggest she's been doing this for many many years both successful and unsuccessful night. Cleanly admits he is not the best player, but certainly one with a lot of experience and understanding. Excellent book.

Excellent!!

I don't gamble nor most of my friends but whenever we get together all of my friends know how to play poker except me. They would play with poker the whole night while I become somewhat of their hostess preparing their foods and drinks; making sure everything is alright. I made a conviction to myself that I would learn poker and beat all my friends. So I started studying the game, listening books and watching actual games then playing starting with amateurs to more experience players. My learning curve has been excellent I should say. Thanks on a big part to this book. Everything you need to learn about Poker is in this book but of course you still need actual practice to really master this skill. As the saying goes if you are prepared you already won half the battle; this is what this book will do for you, it will prepare. It will not let you get off-guard or surprise by the tricks of your opponent. Your every hand is calculated and base on tested strategy by master poker players.

A Banquet for Thought

After one "listen' there's too much to digest. The concepts are clearly presented with examples but as an audio book I myself need to re-listen and take notes in order to make the concepts my own. As opposed to a written book where key points can be highlighted the audio needs to be stopped and rewound. Then notes need to be written.

Great!!

Poker seems to be an interesting game, always watch my dad when he plays the game, but didn't know there's 220 rules.and that it was name Poque originally and the name was changed to poker during the civil war.I learned some historical facts about Poker, the myths, the rules and the etiquette of playing . Great to be an expert in Poker.
