True stories of life and death from a New Zealand pathologist

From the number one best-selling author of The Cause of Death comes an audiobook about the unlikely, extraordinary, obscure and often tragic ways humans meet their end.

A dead body without a trace of trauma; alien parasites; worms of the brain; crocodile attacks and bizarre eating disorders....In The Quick and the Dead, pathologist and self-confessed death-aficionado Dr. Cynric Temple-Camp takes listeners into a world of disease and death as he seeks answers for those who were unlucky, and those still alive to tell the tale.

Really, really interesting stories

This is a book about real people, who have faced the ends of their lives in sometimes tragic ways. I loved that the pathologist had enough compassion for their dignity, and curiousity-to make time to get to the bottom of every case.

More stories of a caring pathologist.

I really enjoy this authors perspective on life. I would love to have a conversation with him. I read his first book and really enjoyed it. This one is a little different but i enjoyed it as well. Well worth listening to.

Great book but very low volume recording

Very interesting and compassionate stories. Enjoyed as much as it's prequel and hope there are more to come.

Bad narrator.

The narrator mispronounced African words and medical terms. The accent attributed to the author is badly misplaced. I know Cynric and his is NOT an Afrikaans accent!!! All very irritating. He doesn’t even attempt the New Zealand accent. Where did you dredge this clown up from?
