Publisher's summary

Tyler Jacobson has a plan for everything - except how to handle his completely annoying, utterly frustrating, and totally sexy upstairs neighbor. He couldn't care less if Everly Ribinski thinks he's equally irritating - until he discovers she's the only one who can help him land a business deal that will finally make him feel like he's more than just a guy from the wrong side of the tracks.

Color him shocked when Everly refuses to help, insisting she should have run him over in the parking garage when she had the chance. Harsh, but possibly deserved. Tyler may have spent the last few months reveling in annoying the fiery gallery owner with a dark past, but he's got secret leverage she can't refuse.

If only they could stop trying to one-up each other long enough to realize the pranks are nothing more than foreplay. Of course, he figures it out quicker. He's smart like that. Too bad Everly wants nothing to do with him. Or does she? Wait. What is she up to now?

For a man who's always scheming, the best-laid plans never felt so good falling apart....

Contains mature themes.

Nice

I enjoy the pacing of her books. The narrator is not my favorite but the story was entertaining enough to overlook that.

liked this one the most in series.

Series in whole weak, cut and paste first draft. Almost same drama in all 3 books.
Interventions with male. People fight and breakup get back together can still manage to function they don't need interventions.
the buying them something ridiculously expensive in appoligies just doesn't sit right.
Hate large public declarations of appoligies
The female in this book was at least independent. The story line wasn't as ridiculous like others.
It was in audible escapes and included. Will be skipping this author too many good reads out there.

Hope there's another in this series

I really want to see Carlos and Kiki get together.
Well-rounded characters, a nice look at romance, and a fun story.

The accent is important...regardless of what others say

I enjoyed this book/series, and I'm hoping that another book will be released telling Carlo's story. The FMC is a strong woman who knows herself and is unapologetic about it, while the MMC is on a journey to figure out if he's really cut out to be who he's dedicated most of his life to being.

There may be a lot of comments about the narrator's accent for the female lead, but that's the point. Everly's accent is a strong part of her, and is also a stark reminder for the male lead, Tyler.

Maybe a better title.

Not too much scheming going on. Unless you count how the Hero might be at his job. Their was more scheming from supporting characters than main Characters. That and one scheming ex-hobag. The Hero ,Tyler, is more socially screwed up due to his past. He is driven to make himself been seen as someone who is nothing like his family. That is the first problem with this pairing. Is the Hero attracted to the Heroine? Hell yes! But, because she is from where he was and he shuns that, it makes every opportunity they get together become thick with tension. He wants to say the right thing, but screws up and then his stubborn pride and upbringing won't sort it out. The Heroine, Everly, has never forgotten where she came from and is proud of it. She embraces who she is and won't apologize for it. The is very strong and even though he is an ass, she is still kind. I might have thrown that coin away on him. I swear it's rigged! Good story though and good performance. Would like to see Carlo's story too.

Didn't like this as much as the others

This is the third in this series and I listened in order. I just didn't feel as connected with this one as the first two. I didn't love the narrator, though she handled multiple different accents and a large number of characters well, but she made Everly sound old and Tyler sounded like a different person using his Harbor City and Waterbury accents. The story just didn't keep my attention well and I read two other books before finally finishing this one and I did that mostly just to get it done. I loved the Hartigan scenes the most and it made me want to reread those books. Also, I appreciated Helene getting her story as well, but I felt we got too little of them before they were suddenly in HEA land. I felt more connected with their relationship arc but we just didn't get enough of it, like it was thrown in to wrap up the series but Tyler and Everly were the focus. It wasn't a bad book but it didn't entertain me or make me swoon the way the others did.

Fun Listen

It follows along the lines of the previous. It's a fairly quick listen and I enjoyed getting Tyler's story and Also Helene's side story. I get the FMC needing an accent but I'm not sure what the narrator was going for with it.
