Daniel is desperate for a fresh start. So when a mysterious figure slides a note under his door offering the position of groundskeeper at an ancient estate, he leaps at the chance, even though it seems too good to be true. Alarm bells start ringing when he arrives at Craven Manor. The abandoned mansion is straight out of those old gothic mysteries: the front door hangs open, and leaves and cobwebs coat the marble foyer. It's clear no one has lived here in a long time...but he has nowhere else to go.

Story
Josephine began to suspect something was wrong with the crumbling gothic monstrosity next door when its family fled in the middle of the night, the children screaming, the mother crying. They never came back. No family stays at Marwick House for long. No life lingers beyond its blackened windows. No voices drift from its ancient halls. Once, Josephine swore she saw a woman's silhouette pacing through the upstairs room… but that's impossible. No one had been there in a long, long time.

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

It’s the day of his ex-wife’s wedding when Dan makes the winding mountain journey to a remote cabin for an escape from the life that another man has stepped into. Less than 48 hours into his reprieve, the forest tranquility is shattered when he looks through a telescope and witnesses the violent abduction of a young woman. Dan springs into action, but there’s no evidence of an abduction nor reports of a missing woman. That is, until Dan sees the missing person’s poster for Ivy Trent.

Some art takes on a life of its own. A beautiful house. A loving family. Two kids, a dog, and a tenure-track professorship teaching art at the local university. Dan Rineheart is living the dream. But all dreams must end. When an anonymous painting arrives at the university, Dan is tasked with uncovering the artist. No title. No name. No signature or frame. It’s a disturbing work of grotesque perfection. A work of art...that changes with each viewing. So begins the nightmare. Where painted clocks tick-tock in the dark hours before dawn.

In Metsan Valo, her family home on Lake Superior, Anni Halla’s beloved grandmother has died. It’s the house of their dreams. Former marine Harry and his wife, Sasha, have packed up their life and their golden retriever, Dash, and fled the corporate rat race to live off the land in rural Idaho. Their breathtaking new home sits on more than forty acres of meadow, aspen trees, and pine forest in the Teton Valley. Even if their friends and family think it’s a strange choice for an up-and-coming pair of urban professionals, Harry and Sasha couldn’t be happier about the future they’re building, all by their lonesome.

Sorority Life is Not All Fun & Games!
The Scream Sisters by J. R. Erickson is truly amazing and frightening all wrapped up in one fantastic place. The Scream Sisters is another excellent standalone in the author's Troubled Spirits collection. Highly anticipated, this novel was everything I have come to expect from this author and so much more. From beginning to end, it captivated my attention and never let go. It helps bring to light the mysterious world of sororities, and the pressure PNM's (Potential New Members) face during rush week. It is an amazing plot, filled with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. The ending will really throw you for a loop!
Teagan shows great strength and tenacity as she desperately searches for her missing best friend/roommate who has disappeared without a trace during rush week. Blair is another PNM that becomes involved through her supernatural abilities. The characters are so well written and developed that you can feel their fear and frustration.
The audiobook is very well done and easy to listen to despite it being a troubling tale. The narration is well executed and the pace is just right. It's easy to get swept up in the story so that you feel as if you are part of the story. If you enjoy audiobooks, this is one definitely worth grabbing!
Overall, Scream Sisters is a phenomenal standalone novel set amongst the fantastic Troubled Spirits Series. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed at all!

Very creepy story, kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. As someone who participated in Greek life during my college years, I really enjoyed the book. It was a fun ride, I didn’t want it to end.

Great book and a great narrator!
I absolutely loved this book! I'm a huge true crime fan and I was on the edge of my seat listening the entire time. The narrator for this book was absolutely amazing as well. Her voices for the other characters was not cringey and it made it easy to follow despite the book jumping from two different character's perspectives. Wonderful experience overall!

Awesome Book and Narration!
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of J.R.Erickson's books. This one might be the best so far. A great spooky story that kept me guessing who the killer was. The narrator did an amazing job of switching characters and making the book a great listen. You won't be disappointed!
