About this listen

Dear Jerk Across the Street, sorry for accidentally walking in on you and catching an eyeful of your - equipment. And hard pass on the open invitation to join you in the shower “anytime”, A-hole.

That’s the note I should’ve written. Instead I sent a pleasant and apologetic version.

Had I known Phoenix “Nix” Russo would’ve been the neighbor from hell, I’d have told him right where he could shove my words.

Nix is the big man on campus with everyone lined up at his games to make sure he knows it. Sure, he’s got piercing blue eyes, abs that don’t quit, and a smile that could set fire to a set of panties from a hundred yards away, but he’s also the biggest pain in my ass.

Dear Pink-Haired Menace, learn how to take a joke and stop being such a kill-joy...

Elle Masterson called the cops on one of my parties - again. My sweet talking usually gets me out of trouble, but this time it got me into a nice pair of silver handcuffs. Now I’m on a reputation rehab tour with a stop at a spring break community service project.

Guess who’s my new boss?

Now we’re shoulder to shoulder, sweaty, tired, and...she’s not anything like I expected. There might just be a heart under that hard-ass exterior. She’s invading my dreams and I can’t shake the feeling she’s the key to unlocking a piece of me that I’ve hidden away.

It’s only a matter of time until she finds out why I’m really here.

Maybe I can break through her walls and into her heart before that happens...one screw at a time.

The Second We Met is a stand-alone new adult romance.

Fantastic listen

What starts off as a bitter neighbors story turns into a fantastic fill your heart romance. Nix and Elle have an explosive start when she walks into his house thinking it was her new place to live. The tension and banter at the beginning was hysterical and I loved the pull. Nix truly was a swoonworthy hero in this story and I love how his feelings were on his sleeve. Elle’s character was fun and strong although a little self righteous at times. The way this story came together truly has left my heart so full with a smile plastered on my face.

Sweet, Fun and Sexy!

This is the second book in the Fulton U Series, an amazing New Adult and College Romance. Nix and Elle's enemies-to-lovers story is hilarious, sweet, and sexy. Nix, a cocky quarterback, is handsome, sexy, and caring. Elle is a complex character, feisty, strong, beautiful, and vulnerable, with trust issues. She definitely is a tough cookie. I loved their banter, and I loved to follow them in their journey. The ending is beautiful. The supporting characters are great. Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to to Jules and Berk's story.

Good pastime

This second book of this series was ok. It was romantic and easy to listen. Not as fabulous that first book, but ok. Why? As first book ”Perfect first” had really good lead characters and deeper plot, this book’s lead characters annoyed me from time to time and plot was quite straightforward. Both readers were really good, once I got used to that they are now different characters than first book. :) Anyway I enjoyed it a lot. This was nice and easy love story to listen.

The Second We Met

I loved the first book in the Fulton U series and thought there's no way book two will be as good. I am happy to say I was proven 100% wrong!

Phoenix 'Nix' Russo and Elle Masterson are neighbors who do not get along. She has disliked him from pretty much day one and he is tired of her calling the police on the parties thrown at his and his roommates' house. After working together on a spring break volunteer project, though, opinions and feelings start to change.

Both Elle and Nix are under immense pressure as their senior year of college comes to a close. They each face tough decisions on what to do next and how much they let others influence what their next steps will be. Both Elle and Nix's situations felt realistic and it was easy to see how past experiences were influencing them. Their connection was strong even when they disliked each other. I loved their banter and the evolution of their relationship.

The author also did a fantastic job of creating a group of secondary characters that were more than just filler. Of course Reece and Seph from the first book appear, but Elle's friend Jules and Nix's other roommates were so much fun to read. She also set up books three and four and I am dying to read them even though I just finished book two!

The narrators did a fantastic job bringing Nix, Elle, and the rest of the characters to life. They were perfect for this book!

Another great addition to the Fulton U series

The Second We Met is the second book in the Fulton U series. This enemies to lovers romance hits all the right notes and is a great addition to the series.

We met Nix in the first book. He is the all-American quarterback who is destined to go pro. From the outside, his life looks perfect, but things are not always what they seem. Nix does whatever he can to please his father even though it may not always be what he wants.

Elle is the girl next door who is tired of her partying neighbors and frequently calls the cops on them. She spends every free moment she has working to make ends meet and to be able to afford her dream. She seems tough as nails, but she is extremely vulnerable underneath it all. She’s been hurt and it takes a lot for her to trust again.

When these two collide, sparks fly. Nix and Elle are drawn to each other, but they fight their attraction. They are forced to spend time together and Elle realizes Nix is actually a sweet and caring guy, but she’s still wary of him. Nix is still trying to figure out his own life as well, but he’s patient with Elle and does everything he can to gain her trust. I loved watching their relationship bloom and their chemistry was hot. Their banter made me laugh out loud. This book also had some really emotional moments and angst, which I live for.

I loved Jason Clarke's narration as Nix. He really brought the character to life for me and I could feel everything he did. Emma Wilder was also great as Elle. I loved listening to them and made me love this story even more.

All in all, this is a fun, sweet, sexy, heartfelt romance. You will fall in love with Elle and Nix and with all of the supporting characters. I can’t wait to read about Nix’s other roommates!

Hilarious

This book was funny, sweet, sexy and probably one of the best enemies to lovers books I have read. Loved Nix and Elle’s animosity toward one another that heats up fast. Great performance by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder.

Explosive

I loved this enemies to lovers story so much. Jason Clark and Emma Wilder bring these characters to life in a way I could have never imagined. Elle and Nix live across the street from each other in a college row. Wild parties show up at Nix’s house and Elle doesn’t have time for that distraction so she calls the authorities to take care of things. Needless to say, Nix can’t understand why she is so stand offish. Elle can’t see beyond his position on the football field and everything that entails. She couldn’t be more wrong. I love how these two develop throughout this story. It isn’t always easy but nothing worth having ever is.

Love this series!

In this second book of the series, we get the golden boy, Phoenx "Nix" Russo's story. This enemies to lovers story will have you swooning for this golden boy who is just the boy next door. As Elle learns more and more about the guy she has hated for over a year, her guard comes down and she finds herself in the spot she hates to be in. To trust or not to trust. Trusting a man isn't something that comes easily to her. Nix is a golden boy though and he a perfect book boyfriend. I was so head over heels in love with him. If Elle didn't come to her senses, I was going to have to run off with him!

This was a great story in this series. It can be read as a standalone, although book 1 was just as good so you will definitely not want to miss it! Great read!

The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life. I really loved the way they were able to make me see these characters so clearly. It really added to the story.

Stellar narration from Jason Clarke!

As always, great narration from Jason Clarke. The story though is sadly dragged down by the unsympathetic, judgmental and self centered main female character.
