Certified Professional Organizer (CPO®) and productivity expert Tamara Myles has developed a simple model - the Productivity Pyramid - which provides an actionable framework for anyone to achieve better results. Based on a sequence of steps leading to peak performance, the author's easily adapt able system consists of five levels:

  • Physical Organization: from de-cluttering to filing - fool-proof strategies for handling incoming papers and ensuring information remains accessible.
  • Electronic Organization: from dealing with email to electronic file management options such as cloud computing.
  • Time Management: mastering the three P's - Plan, Prioritize, and Perform.
  • Activity-Goal Alignment: breaking objectives into specific, relevant, and measurable daily tasks.
  • Possibility: identifying new life and business goals that will help you reach your greatest potential.

Great starting point for improving focus and productivity

I have been working with a coach that has helped me with goal setting and prioritization of tasks so some of this was a review for me. This book lays a solid foundation for establishing organizational systems and recognizing that disorganized environments are often a sign of something else under the surface. I recommend reading if you are regularly overwhelmed with tasks and want to do something about it!

Too long, not productive

What disappointed you about The Secret to Peak Productivity?

Very long, with very little value. The things brought up in this book would be very trivial to most people, working in the high-tech industry, for example.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Secret to Peak Productivity?

I would abbreviate this book to one tenth of its length.

Any additional comments?

This book would be a waste of time for the average person and above.
