Publisher's summary

To bring your dreams and desires to fulfillment, you must invest in your talents. This audiobook shows you how to become successful and live with purpose by sharing the secrets hidden in an ancient parable that holds the universal laws of prosperity.

The Servant with One Talent is an instant classic that holds the key to all you desire and everything you wish to accomplish. Through the story of the unprofitable and lazy servant in ancient Babylon, Michael V. Ivanov provides a unique perspective on the classic parable of the talents. This book provides concrete advice for creating a successful and purposeful life while fulfilling your destiny and becoming the person you were created to be. While many people are burying their dreams, talents, skills, and abilities in the desert, like the unprofitable servant did at the beginning of this story, the successful are investing in their skills, talents, and abilities.

The five success principles covered in this book include:

  1. To each according to his abilities.
  2. A talent buried is a talent lost.
  3. Do not concern yourself with your neighbor’s wages.
  4. The time is now.
  5. To those who have, much more will be given; from those who have not, what little they have will be taken from them.

The best and most applicable way I have ever heard the parable of the talents

The author brings to life the parable of the talents with beautiful imagery that gives the story personality and depth that I believe my kids would even enjoy listening to. In telling the story this way, he has drawn out profound truths and principles that encourage us to move forward, live life to the fullest, and not let fear stop us from doing the things God created us to do. It is definitely a must read!

Beyond the parable

Often musing on this parable, I was moved by the depth and meaningful way this journey of the man given one talent was woven as a story of reality.
The “ goldmine” ,(as a grandparent struggling with the attitude of a dear grandson) , is the nuggets of wisdom I can glean and share .
In these times ,so many of our young find themselves without a feeling of purpose or understanding of the true meaning of life.
My hope is to use the message in this writing to spark an understanding in a creative way .

Life's Opportunities

I did not like the 3rd person story presentation. I have read other books that are really motivating, upbeat, and pro-active. I read the reviews and wanted to buy this as a gift, but read it first. Disappointed. Drags on.
