No visit to India or China in my future

After listening to this book I no longer desire to travel to either India or China. Since my childhood I cherished a deep seated desire to travel to China. Well I finally have outgrown that desire. India is a very poor country and China is very cruel. It is doubtful that I need to worry about being kidnapped and sold for my sexual favors (I'm neither young or beautiful) but that and the problems of child beggars and poverty captured Hiram's interest. These are the things that will hold your interest too and if you are like me, you'll want to bash the bad guy over the head with a rock.

An outstanding edge-of-your-seat read

The Shadow of Kailash: A Hiram Kane Action Thriller (The Hiram Kane Adventure Series Book 4), my fifth read from author Steven Moore. Reminiscent of author Dan Brown & (James) Rollinsesque in the action that never lets up until the end. Well-written action-thriller, with well-developed characters. Narrator Kenneth Bryant's accented narration made this re-read so very enjoyable! "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." With every book written Moore gets better & better. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

What a Magnificent Read !!!

I absolutely adore Steven Moore's Adventure Stories!
Hyram Kane is an Awesome protagonist and along with his sidekick Alex Ridley they find themselves in the Most Exotic
Locales !! There is always something just around the corner waiting for them!!
Each Book can be a stand alone, but the series is most intriguing !!

Excellent

Having been to Tibet, the beauty is amazing, the Tibetan temples. The other side is the chinese influence that was seen and felt, as the author has shown. The harsh reality of the Himalayas mountains, are a pilgrim for many with the many prayer flags. For Kane the love of his life has been taken and the mountains that separate them With that we see the other side and what he faces to get her back.a powerful story of love. The narration by Kenneth was great.

Great Mystery Thriller Series!

The Shadow of Kailash by Steven Moore is part of the Hiram Kane series.
This is a great detective mystery series with lots of action. This has been my favorite so far and I loved that it had a bit of an Indiana Jones vibe to the story!
The audio narration is well done and enjoyable to listen to.

Adventures in exotic places...

After the death of Evan in during 'The condor Prophecy,' Hiram and Alex are on a trip to see the Dalai Lama and commemorate his friend’s death on that way. Soon, they are both immersed in another dangerous adventure.

As always, the book is entertained, but even as I very much agree with the assessment of the situation for those living in Tibet, I must say that, at least IMHO, it quickly stops being the story's background and becomes... preachy. I prefer more subtlety when I'm reading fiction.

And this is the fourth book on this series, which means that, by now, we know the characters. I feel there is no need to keep telling us facts that had been well established, even at the beginning of the book. But, of course, these are issues of personal taste and they might not bother anyone but me :P

Kenneth Bryant does a great job narrating.

A good treatment of some of today's real issues!

Moore does a nice job in this edition of his Hiram Kane series of dealing with several social and moral issues. Smuggling of drugs and weapons along with the nasty business of human trafficking are handled nicely. He also weaves in the moral dilemma of "do the ends justify the means" while treating those subjects. Well done Steven!
