Publisher's summary

Dear Listener,

Like handshakes or housepets, many things are preferable when not slippery. Unfortunately, in this miserable volume, I am afraid that Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire run into more than their fair share of slipperiness during their harrowing journey up, and down, a range of strange and distressing mountains.

It would be best not to mention any of the unpleasant details of this story, particularly a secret message, a swarm of snow gnats, a scheming villain, a covered casserole dish, and a surprising survivor of a terrible fire.

Unfortunately, I have dedicated my life to researching and recording the sad tale of the Baudelaire Orphans. There is no reason for you to dedicate yourself to such things, and you might instead dedicate yourself to letting this slippery audio slip from your hands into a nearby trash receptacle, or deep pit.

With all due respect,
Lemony Snicket

Critic reviews

"Characters are true to form, ridiculous and fun, and, once again, the wry telling is pitch-perfect, with plenty of the joyful wordplay and the quirky imaginative touches Snicket's legions of fans expect." (Booklist)

still no letter :(

fantastic book as usual, but once again the final "letter to the editor" was disappointingly omitted from the audio version.

Great Narration

Tim Curry does an excellent job narrating. He pauses in all the right places and even made me laugh out loud at times. If you already love this series, the aubiobook will make you love it even more.

The series of unfortunate events

I love ❤️ this series ! If you've read these books 📚 1-10 come read "THE GRIM GROTTO " then "THE PENULTIMATE PERIL" and finish the series with "THE END " ,and reread the series from THE BAD BEGINNI-
NG,THE REPTILE 🦎 ROOM,THE WIDE WINDOW, AND SO ON.P.S. you should start a commonplace book 📚 like I am.
