About this listen

A chilling, addictive psychological thriller from bestselling thriller writer Keri Beevis

One sister murdered.
One brother jailed.
One love betrayed.

Mead House was once our childhood home. Despite my fears, I always knew we would have to return to face the demons of our past. Back to the place where it happened, to where, as carefree teenagers, we lost our elder sister in the most brutal of circumstances.

As executors of our grandmother’s will, my twin brother, Ollie, and I needed to empty the house for resale. What I didn’t expect to discover was my sister’s secret journal that contained her most private thoughts and shocking dark secrets.

Now I am questioning everything that I saw that night.
Did I get it wrong, who I saw?
Did my evidence send an innocent man, my then boyfriend's brother, to jail for the last 17 years?

I know I have no choice. If I want to find answers, I will have to go back to that fateful night my sister died. When she made her last visit to the summer house.

A tension-packed psychological thriller that will have you gripped.

Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

Interesting story

Not your standard story, which kept me listening. The characters could have had more depth and some of the narrator's character voices were slightly annoying.

Good story that kept you listening till the end

I liked the story although it seemed a little unbelievable after I got all the way through in terms of the killer’s motivations that drove them. The narration almost put me to sleep a few times.

You will be guessing until the very end!

This is my second book by this author and I think I found a keeper. Just when you think you have something figured out, here comes another nugget of information to throw you off. Great listen/ read!

Good story line but struggled with narration

I may have enjoyed this story more if it was narrated by somebody else. My preference in narration is a more upbeat expressive narration. I found the narration of this story bland and dull. I increase the speed but unfortunately that didn't help. However, if you do like the narrators style I would recommend this story as it is very good

Good book. If you like Keri Beevis style and I do, this is a good one. Good narrator too. Nasty killer, spooky setting, romantic interest, domestic dramas. All good.

Who did it?

It took me a little while to get into this book but once I did, I was hooked. The twists of the story being a haunted drive through the past to reveal an unlikely suspect.

Pretty good !! Finished it in a few day

You think it’s predictable but then there are twists there were some loose ends I didn’t rly feel like were resolved and there’s some cheesy moments but overall it’s worth a listen I like this author she’s not overly predictable
