Publisher's summary

Bloomsbury presents The Sustainable(ish) Living Guide written and read by Jen Gale.

Easy, do-able, down to earth ideas and suggestions for everyone to help save the planet.

If you want to save the planet, but your to-do list is already pretty long and remembering your re-usable coffee cup feels like a Herculean task, then this is the book for you. Covering every aspect of our lives from the stuff we buy and the food we eat to how we travel, work, and celebrate, this book provides stacks of practical, down to earth ideas to slot into your daily life, alongside a gentle kick up the butt to put your newfound knowledge into action.

Practical tips include unsubscribing from all the tempting emails that drop into your inbox with details of the newest clothing range or the latest sale, and keeping a mug next to your kettle to work out how much water you actually need to boil each time, as over-filling kettles costs British households £68 million on energy bills each year.

Find out how to fit "sustainable living" into your life, in a way that works for you. Change your impact without radically changing your life and figure out the small steps you can make that will add up to make a big difference (halo not included).

My new bff

I didn’t even check to verify that this book was read by the author, but I know it was. I’m so glad that she read it herself and I know that we would be BFFs. She’s very relatable, kind, witty , and adorable, Not to mention incredibly intelligent and inspiring. My only beef is that the book is Generally exclusive to those living in the UK. I need her to write a book for the US😂😪

Great beginner's guide, even with many UK specific resources

Loved this book! Jen's approach was very realistic and relatable. This is a great beginner's guide full of resources. The only thing I might note is that as an American some of the phrases used were a little different and the resources were sometimes based in the UK. However I could always infer the meanings of phrases or was inspired to look up US resources.

Awesome book to get a head start on a Sustainable life

I’m glad to buy this book, it is really cool, gives you many ideas on how to begin. The author is actually entertaining to listen to so I never got bored listening to her. Everyone who listens hopefully you do your bit saving our Earth, for our future generations. I’m already started to consumer very very less. But these are my own : Recycle all the plastic you use, even looking at way to make plastic waste into something useful like tiles, etc. Composting organic matter in the big bio gas chamber fitted at home.
Cheers, mate!

Completely Relatable

This book is a new favorite of mine. She makes the green choices we are all trying to make in our homes seem less daunting. And the narration was very good!
