Publisher's summary

Emily's boyfriend is going to dump her. At least, that is what she's been convinced. He is acting incredibly strange, keeping secrets and lying about money. Worst of all, with Valentine's Day coming up, he might dump her on her favorite holiday!

However, things are not as they appear. Her thoughtful boyfriend actually has a sweet secret up his sleeve. With Emily freaking out, will he be able to keep his lips shut until the big day?

Feel good short romance

--I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

I really liked this short story. It is a feel good, warm fuzzy feeling love story. Emily, an insecure young woman is feeling that her hunk of a boyfriend, Jason is pulling away from her and she will end up being dumped. She is in for the surprise of her life. The most romantic scene with Jason too...what a sweet talking man!

Paul Cram did a wonderful job narrating this book. If you are looking for a good book to get you in a great mood on the way to work, this is for you!

Things Are Not As They Appear!

The Sweetest Surprise was a sweet, short contemporary story written by Augusta Hill. This story was enjoyable and I honestly don't like contemporary romance but I wish this story had been longer because I most definitely would've listened to a full length novel of this novella. It's a warm, pleasing, and a feel good type of story.

Paul Cram did a great job with his narration but he could use some work on his female accents/voices. I felt the female characters sounded too manly, when they should've sounded feminine. I think with some work on his female vocals that he will become a very talented narrator. Overall, I gave it 4 stars because of the narrator, as for the story it gets 5 stars.
I received this audio at no charge from the author/narrator in exchange for an honest and unbiased review through Audiobook Blast.

Sweet love.

This was a short and sweet love story about a Valentine's day surprise that goes a bit wrong. The couple are good together but secrets nearly tear them apart.

I don't feel that I can add anything to the publisher summary without spoiling. I will comment on the author and the narrator:

The author has made a 44 minute story that is worth listening to. In the short time Hill has developed characters with many layers, flaws and assets. This must've been very difficult given the book is only 44 minutes long. To me, this felt like it were more Young Adult.

The narration is exceptional: There were three (at least) women for Paul Cram to try to perform as well as a few men. Cram did an excellent job with all characters in this very short listen.

I will seek out books written by this author impressed and performed by this narrator.

While I like my books to be at least six hours long this was a nice quick listen. However, the author created several different characters. I think Hill would be wise to use them to spin off a short story, compilation or a full-length novel. I have no doubt that Hill is capable.

Now, here's where I tell you the legal stuff. I received the book as a gift in exchange for my review and opinions. I believe I gave it a fair shake and found it (as I said before) a nice, short listen.

A Nice, Clean Surprise of a Story

"The Sweetest Surprise" was a super neat and clean short story. I think there may be a moral to the story as well about misinterpretations and misunderstandings. It seems that Emily saw that things were somewhat out of place and she naturally gravitated towards thinking in a negative way.

This is where the surprise comes in. As I was listening and whenever Emily found out the truth, I was just as surprised. And happy. I thought it was fun. What a wonderful surprise indeed. I really liked this story by Augusta Hill and hope to hear more from her in the future.

Paul Cram did a great job narrating the story. He had a super nice voice that I could listen to all day. He kept a good pace and had spot on voice inflections. This was a good combination of author/narrator and a neat story.

Sour

I wish I had not read this book. Emily is getting a very clear message throughout the story. However the finale is totally discordant with the logical
interpretation of the facts.
