A Must-Read Book

An incredible book for anyone interested in Lean/continuous improvement. Highly recommend regardless of where one is on their Lean journey, even if you have already finished the first edition.

The book provides great history, context, and stories related to Lean and Toyota/Toyota Production System (TPS). The book is thorough and thoughtful in the way it is written and seamlessly incorporates new understandings supporting Toyota’s success (e.g. Toyota Kata).

I consider this new edition mandatory reading—along with 2 Second Lean—for everyone. Our world would be a much better place if more people showed Respect for People and a Commitment to Continuous Improvement (the foundation of Lean/TPS).

Amazing

Anyone who runs a business of, well, any kind, should listen to this immediately. Start with 2 second lean by Paul Akers to get an easy intro to the concepts then listen to this to dive deeper.

If you are committed to continuous improvement, this is for you

If you are leading and organization and are committed to continuous improvement, then this is a great explanation or how one company has utilized continuous improvement as a culture and management methodology to achieve lasting great results. This also appears to be the basis for Goldratt’s “The Goal” so if you have read his stuff this is some great additional material that can take your practices to the next level.

Review of The Toyota Way ... 2nd edition.

Great to see the original benchmark updated, answering many of the modern questions. The basics of the original book remain, which is comforting as my own journey is still linked to the original version.

Well done agsin Jeffrey.

Toyota's values are highly respectable.

I am a life long customer. My first car was a blue 1983 Carolla/Trecel. I loved that car and it was built well! I love this book because these men and women have put this information out into the world to make the world a better place. Giving your competition the means to improve is an honorable decision. Thank you Toyota for working so hard to make the best products possible, and thank you for teaching others to do the same
