I’ve had the best day. You won’t believe it. There I was in my preschool classroom, washing a bit of poo out of some soggy trousers, when this absolute babe came to collect his nephew from my class.

Truthfully, I thought I’d blacked out for a moment when I first saw him. He was a proper hunk with glorious brown hair, quite tall, and he had these arms. Are muscly arms supposed to turn me on? I’m panting just thinking about them.

Anyway, he told me he’s a professional foosball player. At least, I think that’s what he said. The tots can get quite loud near pickup time.

Yasmine

Foosball? What are you on about? Have you gone mad?

Kat

Oh sod off. So what if I like to have a good look at Hot Dog Guy’s arse on my trek home after a hard day’s work? It’s called self-care.

Candace

Kat, you’re hopeless. Yasmine, yes - foosball! I suppose it’s a big thing over here in the States? We must investigate and learn everything we can.

By the way, he’s called Logan.

Logan + Candace. I think that sounds quite nice! I can hear the wedding bells now. Dum dum da-dum.

Yasmine

Oh good grief. I suppose we can do some snooping when I get home. I’ll grab wine on my way.

When I read this book I laughed out loud and really enjoyed, but the audiobook version I didn't care for. Teddy Hamilton was great, but the female narrator, which is most of the book, was terrible. She didn't come across quirky and funny as written and her Logan impersonation was awful. So glad I read the book before I listened to it. Just wish I didn't have to waste a credit to figure it out.

I have always held back from reading Rachel’s books and wait for the audiobooks because she always chooses the best narrators to bring her characters to life. This time was no exception. It’s the first time I’ve had the privilege of hearing Violet Wilson, and although I like Teddy Hamilton, she totally made this audiobook.

Rachel’s books are so hilarious and full of heart that you cannot help but smile throughout them. Logan was a great character and I really loved him, but Candace was adorably cute (and I know she hated to be called cute). She made me laugh throughout this book starting from the time she thought Logan played Foosball to making friends with the bodyguard. Her wittiness, along with her kindness was refreshing to read, especially in a year when everything seems to go wrong.

I love Rachel’s books and I hope she keeps giving us more wonderful characters to love.

I love Teddy Hamilton. Will listen to anything he narrates.

Violet’s British accent is quite lovely. Her American accent, on the other hand, is SO HORRIBLE that I forced myself to listen for three and a half hours before I couldn’t take it anymore had to call it quits. I love RS Grey books but the audio of this one is not worth the Audible credit.

is it supposed to be sexy? masculine? it just sounds sinister and evil, making it where I don't care for the male lead.

Narrators: please learn proper pronunciation of words, especially commons words. like Nike (the e is a 2nd syllable and a long e) and Lois (it is not Lewis). So frustrating.
Story is ok, not sure if I'll be finishing it. half way through and losing interest.

Also, author might be a little out of touch with 3 year olds, their vocabulary and concepts.

Not the authors best and unfortunately the narration production really highlights it. I did finish the book but the bad accents pulled me out of the story often.

This is a romantic comedy. Candace, the main female character, is a hoot. She is down to earth and fun. She meets a pro football player and he falls for her fast. Read/listen either way this story will touch your heart and make you laugh. Enjoy!

I basically smiled or laughed for the majority of the book. I adored Candace, the heroine. Her quips and banter with both Logan and her best friends (and herself) were delightful. Truly, she is one of my favorite female characters of 2020- I so enjoyed getting to know her (and I loved that we got a glimpse into the lives of her friends as well). Logan was truly swoon-worthy. He's everything you want the hero of a romance novel to be- sweet while tough, alpha while also aware of when to let the woman lead. From the beginning, when he met Candace, (who is a preschool teacher and teacher to his nephew), he was smitten and I absolutely loved the low angst, mature (and often hilarious) progression of their relationship. Get ready for laughs, awesome banter and a fantastic couple (And their wacky friends). This is definitely one of my favorite books from RS Grey.

The audiobook with Teddy Hamilton and a new to me narrator, Violet Wilson was excellent. Teddy Hamilton is my go to narrator for excellent audiobooks and he was awesome. Violet Wilson was also pretty good although sometimes her UK English pronunciation actually invaded the American English parts (like privacy). But overall, I enjoyed this audiobook very much and loved reliving the book through this narration (I first read the ebook and then bought the audiobook when it became available).

Let me start by saying I love this author's writing. All books are an automatic download for me. For this book I liked the characters (all the female characters are very memorable) and the story line was cute. The female lead was hilarious like in many of R.S. Grey's novels. The narration was a bit distracting as any time the British female narrator had to read in an American accent it was way off and any time the American male narrator had to read in a British accent it was also way off.

One thing I can always count on with an RS Grey book is that it will be cute, fun, easy and give me a good feeling at the end. This story was a different take on the usual Britt story. It was a Britt female which is so much more fun for me.

I loved how quirky and witty Candace was. Worked well with the down to earth quality of Logan.

My only complain is that this should’ve been a duet narration. I adore Teddy but his British is not amazing and Violet was amazing in her role but her American is rubbish. If it was duet it would’ve made that go away. But I loved Violets narration and love finding a new narrator.
