A TOP FINANCE BOOK OF 2022 by THE NEXT BIG IDEA CLUB
A SABEW BEST IN BUSINESS BOOK AWARDS FINALIST

A straightforward, practical guide to the newest frontier in investment strategy—crypto—from #1 New York Times bestselling author and personal finance expert Ric Edelman.

Blockchain and bitcoin are here to stay—and as the Bank of England stated, this new technology could “transform the global financial system.” No wonder PWC says blockchain technology will add $2 trillion to the world’s $80 trillion economy by 2030. Indeed, blockchain technology and the digital assets it makes possible are revolutionary, the most profound innovation for commerce since the invention of the internet.

And yet, the average investor—and the investment advisors who manage two-thirds of all their money—aren’t aware of all this, or of the incredible investment opportunities now available. Fortunately, Ric Edelman, one of the most influential experts in the financial field, shows investors how they can engage and thrive in today’s new investment marketplace.

Featuring the prophetic insights you’d expect from one of most acclaimed financial advisors, The Truth About Crypto is fun to read and easy to understand—and most importantly gives listeners the sound, practical advice we all need to succeed with this new asset class. Best of all, Edelman shows how blockchain works, the difference between digital currency and digital assets, and a comprehensive look at every aspect of the field. This book is a must-read guide if you want to achieve investment success today.

Good info but too tedious for casual investor

The title of the review says it all. As a casual investor, I don’t really care about a lot of the minutia in the book like OTC trusts (that’s one of many examples). It’s great information if you’re trying to get super deep into this, but for someone who doesn’t think about finances every single day of their life, I think this book is a bit overkill.

A must read for intro to crypto

I’ve been a fan of Ric for years, he has a way of breaking down things so the audience can easily understand the content. Overall, this is a great book, I listened to many other intro to crypto books, this is by far, the best. Highly recommend

loved it but . . .

great great content, well written, very informative. the narration was good but the reading of all of the references to the documents with www.https://yada yada yada yada yada yada yada.com is very tedious. much better to say reference IRS documents 37 found on a tax PDF say it at the beginning and make the simple reference and keep on reading.

It came with the wrong PDF file

I haven't finished the book yet, waiting for Audible to provide the correct PDF file for this title.
It came with the file for "The Truth About Your Future" instead of "The Truth About Crypto".
There are numerous references to charts and lists in the PDF file throughout the book, none of which are relevant to the included PDF file.
Audible is looking into it.
The content I have listened to so far was very informative and easy to follow.
I wish Ric had narrated the book himself, but Mr. Axtell was nearly as good.

the best I've read so far

if you're struggling to make sense of digital assets and block chain tech, then this book is for you. Ric not only simplies concepts but he's human and funny roo. Feels like the penny finally dropped. Definitely my best crypto edu read so far.

Ric Edelman Delivers

It's a complex topic and, as we have seen, a volatile asset, but Ric Edelman's writing is clear and informative. This is the information investors need to know. Michael David Axtell's narration was fine, although I would have preferred to hear this in the author's familiar voice. The chapter on taxes was a tough slog, but then, it's a chapter on taxes.

A good start

Unfortunately since i listened to this book mostly while walking the dog through the woods, some of this went over my head. Due to the numerous call outs to included pdfs, charts, and websites I did not get a chance to “see” any visual aides or references. For visual learners, I’d recommend the hard copy book. Others the narrator’s pacing and tone made this a very easy book to listen to.

Rehashed waste of time.

Apparently you have to give at least one star. And then write at least fifteen words just to communicate how lame this “book” is.

This Book is Just Not Factually Correct.

Just spent 8+ hours listening to “The Truth About Crypto”, and am sorry to say: it is anything but factual.

Ric’s accounts of “Blockchain Tech”, Bitcoin and crypto in general & it’s potential have no real basis in computer science, and his lack of expertise on this subject is evident in this book.

It is incoherent technobabble at best, and simply would not pass Computer Science 101 at a your local community college.

It is disappointing to see someone of Ric’s status pedaling this junk this to Financial Advisors audience and their Clients.

File under Fiction.

Good, but….

Good book, but on audio it is ridiculous to have the narrator read out each full website address or link. I had to do 30 second skips at least 25 times to get past that ridiculous nonsense.
