Publisher's summary

An incredible victory at a terrible price.... To the mountains and the fall....

Against all the odds, Jack West Jr found the Three Secret Cities - but at a heartbreaking cost.

Still reeling from his loss, Jack must now get to one of the five iron mountains - two of which have never been found - and perform a mysterious feat known only as ‘The Fall’.

Amid all this, Jack will discover that a new player has entered the race, a general so feared by the four legendary kingdoms they had him locked away in their deepest dungeon. Only now this general has escaped and he has a horrifying plan of his own....

Time is running out, and the stakes have never been higher for Jack and his crew, in this thrilling penultimate instalment of the Jack West series.

Jack West Jr. it's the best!

I have loved this entire series. I have read every book and enjoy listening to them afterwards. This was the most action packed book in the series. High octane all the way through. I know you will enjoy it, but read it listen to the others first!

The only thing is waiting for the ONE!!!

I have enjoyed all of Matthew Reilly books. So I am a little bias. This is a great book if you have read the previous books. If not go back and read them and get to know the characters and their development and growth.

Can't hear the audio! Max Volume is too low.

I have waited for this title to be re-released and fixed but it doesn't look like they will. This and the final book both have very quiet audio so it is hard to follow the story when you can't hear it. But the book not the audio because they still haven't fixed it.

Almost to the End

This is the second to last book in the Jack West Jr series. I enjoy all of Matthew Reilly’s books for the interesting characters and great action. I’ve read all the books multiple times, but I’m now starting to do the audio version too. (Nothing can replace a hard copy book for those excellent maps).
But I really dislike the sound of this narrators voice. It constantly pulls me out of the story. The only reason I kept listening is because it’s a Matthew Reilly book or I would have returned it. I will definitely not get any audiobook by this narrator after finishing this series.

Narrator Quality Check?

I thought this penultimate novel suffered from a bit too much exposition and setup for the final book in the series. My main gripe was with the narrator, specifically with constant mispronunciations. “Principia and Omega” were the two biggest offenders in my book. Isn’t anyone doing some kind of quality check while recording the books? Like hey, omega isn’t pronounced “Oh-Mee-ga”, how do you not catch that?

Great book. Bad narration.

The story is exactly what you expect from this series. If you enjoyed the rest of the series you will love this one as well. Unfortunately the narrator didn't help the story. I ended up returning the audible version and just reading the novel on kindle.

Bad volume

The sound was distant and low. The problem was not resolved satisfactorily, nothing could be done.

Captain West has lost His magic

I have read every one of Matthew Reilly's books and this is the first one that I couldn't finish. It wasn't bad, per say, just predictable and boring. Lost interest in the Captain West story. Returned

Narrator check needes

Just got this and am wanting to return it. The narration is bad I mean really bad. Super harsh sibilance makes it very hard to enjoy.
