Narration was great although the voices used for other characters in the book were distracting; So off the wall to the point that I was paying more attention to them than the words they were saying.
Definitely a recommended read/listen.

Any additional comments?
I agree with many who say the narrator's use of strange cartoonish voices distracted from the gravitas of the story. I'd love to hear the same book voiced by Don Leslie, who narrated Under and Alone - an excellent book and terrific voice work. These guys are hardened criminals, and deserve to be heard as more aggressive and much more dangerous sounding. The overall narrative is strong, if simple, and a very interesting look into the rise of a gangster from teen thug to the leader of some seriously bad dudes.I think, as some have alluded to here, that this would serve as a great prequel to Under and Alone, and the two texts could be combined to create an epic story stretching decades from the rise of the Mongols, until the famous infiltration of the gang by Queen.
There are some laugh out loud moments, particularly during the Junior's hazing, and clearly some sanitization and re-rendering of particular events, but it's a worthwhile addition to the corpus of literature in the OMC category.
Worth a listen
